Look I sent my xbox back last Tuesday. Today is Sunday I just got off the phone with them. They already got it, will have it fixed by Tuesday the latest and sent back to me 3 day shipping. Thats what the new change is. There are 2 things:
1. 3 day shipping instead of overnight (how it was with my 1st broken xbox)
2. No more UPS pick up. You have to drive to drop it off or pay the charge to have the xbox picked up (also used to be free with overnight shipping)

So dont think if you xbox breaks you cant play until the end of the summer thats nuts. If that happened to someone here they really need to get on the phone and do something. Or you live in the middle of no where.

Thanks for taking the high-road Derek!

What part did you forget to tell us about in your process? You forgot to tell us about what turned out to be the longest part of the process for me and that was getting the box from MS to begin with. You start right up with "Look I sent my xbox back last Tuesday", in my case I was already nearly 10 biz days days in before I was able to send mine to MS.

Now for a kid that goes to school if their unit breaks down today and they consider summer their time off if they get the performance I got they won't be playing it until the end of their perceived summer.

My scenario fell under the current shipping rules you pointed out:

It took 2 weeks just to get the box. A little over one week before they sent it back (imo this should be the most inconsistent part of the process) and a few days to get here after the repair, it was right about 4 weeks. What more can I do? I called them they have a program in place, I followed it. I knew what I was doing, I was doing their routine, I don't think there was a single thing I could have done to speed it up, not one. However YMMV just because of availability/workload.

So again thanks for taking the high road and giving us the benefit of the doubt.
