Another bad listing for Titan tv. This movie listed as HD but tuned in to bars. Guess I'll watch some Law & Order..

ya fox sucks complete dissapointment. Don't show a 'film' in the resolution and aspect ratio of 1990's tv shows.

Quite surprising. When was the last time Fox did not show a prime time movie in HD?

Odd, because it was listed as HD, and the quality seemed pretty good. Is it that they just forgot to go to full screen?

Really disappointed to see this movie not offered in HD. I did stay and watch the whole thing though. It was much better than I remembered. I just remember being really disappointed when it first came out. It has aged well.

On a semi related topic there were no logos and the PQ looked pretty good for SD.

Another thing I have been wondering for awhile and been meaning to ask..... Has the original Jurassic Park been shown uncut and in HD? That is one of my favorite movies and I would love to be able to get my hands on a HD copy.

If only UNIVERSALHD would offer some of these amazing movies... Its moments like this when I realize how great a channel it could be if only they tried and offered some of there true gems. I would also like to see them fix there audio and increase the picture bitrate. Shame. True shame.

It has been reported in the past that Lucas and Spielberg have specific requirements to show their films on TV, one being no bugs and it could be Spielberg decided, for whatever reason to NOT do HD on TV (erode DVD sales? Who knows.). Lucas did the same thing early on with Star Wars but has seem to relent on the HD part recently. I think the no bug stance is still in place though.

Maybe they got their copy of the movie before they went HD?

On the other hand, they showed The One in SD after they went HD.

HD promos between seemed out of place for a non-HD movie.

Yeah, strange seeing it in 4x3 AR on the HD channel.
I DVR'd it and captured it live from FOX HD in NY on my HTPC- was excited to get this movie in 16x9 HD... but once again disappointed by the TV Gods!
Why is it so difficult to get good movies in HD anyway? This is 2007 isn't it??

In Australia Star Wars is always shown in HD with a watermark, JP was also shown (16:9 widescreen as always) but also had a logo. I really can't see a director being able to dictate a "no bugs" policy, especially when it has been done here countless times before.

Looks like FOX is taking after it's sister network (MyNetworktv) by offering movies in SD instead of HD. Talk about being cheap.

MNT has had some movies in primetime and HD recently, I remember seeing Crimson Tide(I think) just about a month ago.

jurassic park is universal (HD-DVD camp) property correct?

a theory:

They don't want Fox (bluray camp) showing a HD version of a movie they still haven't released on HD-DVD

I almost started a thread on this last night, (but didn't, knowing it would just get booted to the SD forum) but I thought it was a local issue. It so happened I logged onto Titan right at starting time. Excited, I hurriedly set my tuner card to the FOX affiliate, set record and.......

BAM!.......4:3.

It's only one of my all-time favorites.....talk about disappointing. The otherwise great PQ couldn't make up for it.

It the US, Lucas and Spielberg rein supreme because they are independent film producers that make millions for the distributors just about every time out of the box. Money talks and no one who distributes want to make that kind of money mad. 20th Century-FOX distributed the Star Wars movies.
