White Knight Story: a truly next-gen action RPG - Page 8

I'm only a couple of hours into the game but I can see the FFXII comparisons in the combat.

The only thing I don't like right now is the combat UI. It takes up way too much space on the screen.

I'm probably a ways away from doing anything on-line, but feel free to add nataku09 as a friend for the future!

I'm thinking of picking up this game today. Is the online still popular?

I still play it almost every day.

There's still a lot of people playing it.

I picked this game up.. I like the feel of it, the single player has a MMO feel to it. I have about 6 hours in and just unlocked the binding. I did a bit of grinding and am now at level 15 with my avatar. I did go online just to try see what it was like, I didn't do any missions tho.

I'm working with one-hand swords and dabbing in healing. I'm thinking of using long swords for the Katana... not sure though.

Everyone and their mother uses Longswords. Including me.

If you want to use a melee weapon, I recommend Longswords or Spear. They both have a skill that allows you to make 2 AC at the cost of 20 MP. If you want to do pure damage and have little regard to defense (which can be a mistake), go Longsword. If you want to do less damage and tank (there's actually a skill, similar to the sword, that allows you to provoke all enemies in the area), go with the spear.

Staff also has this ability, but you'll want to use that if you go the magic user route.

Bows, though I haven't used them myself, are pretty fast.

That's not to say that the other weapons are useless. Swords have a good variety in weapon types. I believe Axes do slightly more damage than Longswords, on average.

I grabbed part 2 and started at part 1. After a couple of hours I'm wondering why everybody hated this title. I'm liking it and feel bad that I let reviews keep me away from it for so long. Stupid internet.

I bought it a while back, I need to get back into it. It started really slow.
