Alright, I've got the four cans above the bar wired and in place! There is only 6' of the room in the rear that doesn't have sheetrock on the ceiling.
I realized I made a mistake when I asked the HVAC guys to leave the grill off and I'd do it after sheetrock. I went to put the grill on the return and then realized that the grill was 20x20" and the box in the ceiling was 20x19.5"
I tell ya...these rooms will fight you every step.
So I had to do a bit of "adjusting" to the box and got it all worked out after a half hour of blood, sweat and tears. I will be very happy when the last of the overhead work is behind me!
Got all the lights wired into temporary dimmer switches. So right now it is a crazy process to adjust the 6 zones, but it'll work until I decide to get the Graphik Eye. Also note the rope lighting is only on one side. I've got to go buy the rest.
The cans above the bar work out WONDERFULLY!!!
I'm very pleased. On the lowest dimmer setting, there is enough glow at the bar for you to easily eat at, while throwing ZERO light to the screen! We watched the Pittsburg, Tennessee game last night and left them on the whole time. No excuse for reaching into your beer mug for a peanut! Or at least you can't blame the lighting.
Here's a panorama as of this morning.
I'm going to sheetrock in the bar over the weekend. It's pretty stable now, but I'm hoping this helps a bit. I need to put in some bracing for attaching a foot bar too.
The new audio equipment is continuing to impress me. I shuffled around the subs a bit more, and ended up finding something that is working a bit better. One sub is now in the end table position of the middle row, and the other is in the far back corner. The one in the back corner has a front firing 15" woofer and a rear firing 15" radiator. The radiator is now 6" off the wall in the corner, and I think this is leading to the improved SPL's. Many say that corner loading leads to boominess, but I'm not realizing it in this instance.
Got to find someone to come in and tape and mud the ceiling. It's time!!!
