Where to buy JVC Pro HD-P70R2U tv? -discontinued model-

Can anyone tell me where to purchase a JVC Pro model HD-P70R2U television? I am interested in this model as well the 61 inch HD-P61R2U. Both were discontinued by JVC in April of this year. Some dealers still have them or can get them, so I'm looking for some dealers to check their distribution and warehouses or a member to let me know if they have seen one at an authorized dealer.

If it helps you any, I spoke to a JVC rep at InfoComm in June who said a new version of the Pro HD-ILA set will be on display at CEDIA. I got no other details, but I will definitely be looking for it in Denver.

Tapeworkstexas was sold out of these and could not get more when I talked to them. Any other ideas?

Interesting info on a new pro model. I have an email into my JVC district sales manager who I have met before. I have been told from multiple vendors in more than one state that JVC is getting out of the rear projection market and will continue with plasma and lcd only moving forward. I was also told yesterday that JVC might be selling off it's pro division. The sale is a rumor, but it was from a reliable source I've known for years that buy from them.

Interesting news regarding Cedia. This does not line up with what I am being told, but if it is true that is great news. I'll try and call into JVC today to verify this.

For now, I'm still interested in looking for a HD-P70R2U set. If I find out there is a new model coming soon I'll respond here.

I can't at all vouch for the reliability of the comment made by the JVC rep I spoke to. I literally blew by their booth in a huge hurry to get back to my own booth (I was AWOL). I just grabbed the first JVC guy I saw and asked about the future of the Pro models.

Of course, you know the "pot luck" nature of answers you get in trade show booths - some may be right on, while others could be totally uninformed BS (but the guy did know that the PxxR2U sets were discontinued - I didn't). I know I'm probably guilty of giving out some "questionable" answers through the years.

I'd be very interested in anything that anyone can find out about these Pro model TVs going forward. I don't currently have any JVC rep buddies to ask.
