Sources for 10 gauge speaker wire?

I'm preparing to wire my EP2500 powered IB.

I've searched through the various forums and it seems the best deals are online. Has anyone come across decent 10 gauge speaker wire locally for a good price?

I was wondering if Home Depot or Lowes had "hidden gem" cable worth using.

Here ya go. Reasonably priced too. http://www.mcminone.com/product.asp?...5Fid=24%2D2040

Jim, at first I didn't noticed who posted. The speaker wire I linked to is the wire I used in my IB. If you need a hundred ft. it's even cheaper, .89/ft.

Thanks Chuck and Carl. I appreciate it.

I came across this while searching. I was just wondering if anyone found something similar at HD or Lowes.

.57/ft isn't too bad at all.

Bluejean is typically much higher than parts express. Be sure you're buying 10/2 and not 10/1. There's no picture and I'd hate to see you end up with a single cable when you need a + and - in one cable.

Definitely! I double checked and it seems to be what I'm looking for.

Both the 10-gauge and 12-gauge versions consist of two separately insulated conductors, twisted together and wrapped in an outer PVC sleeve

Looks like the one for you. Rated for in wall also. Lets get that IB fired up now!

I painted the insides of the manifolds today. I actually have one of them in the attic now. Woohoo! Ok, it's nowhere near where it needs to be, but at least it's up there.

This stuff was relatively inexpensive last time I looked and I recall they offer it in 10ga as well. I don't see why this would'nt work well. Although it's 'low voltage', I think most of it has a .... stop.... I just did a Google search and it appears that UL and NEC say that low voltage cable must carry no more than ~40 volts, so I can imagine that the cable manufacturers design the cables for no more than double that ( just a guess ). I know that some amps can output 70 volts peak to peak, so low voltage cable is probably not a good application for high output amplifiers.

I'm assuming there's some pics somewhere?

Unless you are running wire long distance, then 10ga is pretty much a waste of money. The tinsle leads on speakers are 18ga at most.

I tend to agree. I put my roll of 12 ga wire in the attic last night. The run is less than 20'.

I used left over CL2-14g wire and works fine.

You know, I take tons of pics of all of my projects except for this one. It's been going so painfully slow due to the heat that I haven't taken time out to snap any pics. I'll take some in the attic tonight.
