What BD do you use to show off HD Audio?

Personally, I like the movie Apocalypto to show off the HD sound. I just love playing the waterfall scene and listening to the falls roar.

I think I have seen most of the blu-rays that I think I would want to see that are out to date (netflix 4 at a time + a DUI, no license and no drinking = lots of movies).

However, I only have had any sort of home theater set-up for about a month now, so I want some good titles that have good audio. Any suggestions? (I own Casino Royale, both Pirates, Apocalyto, Happy Feet, and should be getting the Fifth Element replacement anyday now).

for complete surround sound experience I use the church scene from Resident Evil. In uncompress audio it sounds AMAZING.

How about those concert videos? I personally love John Legend.

Also great sound demos, in my opinion, include HoFD (bean dance) and Kung Fu Hustle (night guitar/attack scene). Of course, I'm referring to the PCM tracks.

Pearl Harbor - PCM
Face/Off (J) - PCM
Speed = DTS HD
X-Men 3 - DTS HD
Apocalypto - PCM

Yep, the Apocalypto water falls scene is the one I use as well for sheer power of the sound. Also popping in the NIN disk shows off the surrounds nicely and the clarity of uncompressed audio.

BHD sure sounds nice, but not as good for a quick show off scene IMO. Any other specific scenes in movies you guys use?

as bad as its video is, House of Flying Daggers's audio is nothing short of amazing, i'd use this as a display of HD audio any day, just watch the dance scene with zhang ziyi and andy lau where he throws the entire bowl of whatever was in it at the drums. i've heard the waterfall scene in apolypto as well and i preferred the scene in HoFD over that one.

The Messengers is pretty good demo disc with the crawly thing running around the room and lots of directional cues.

i really thought the john legend concert's audio was merely okay, in fact i may even prefer chris botti's concert's audio over john legend's concert (saw on hdnet not on bd, still in queue at netflix) even tho it'd be pitting dd5.1 from broadcast against pcm 5.1.

Casino Royale
Pirates Of The Carribean DMC
Black Hawk Down
House Of Flying Daggers (you know what scene)

All of course in uncompressed PCM

Black Hawk Down (PCM track) is as good as I've heard, and got 5/5 stars from HiDef Digest.

Hey I didn't say the movie was good!

The plane crash in Flight of the Phoenix is unbelievable. The fact that it's "only" the DTS core makes it even more impressive.

I too would give the plane crash scene an enthusiastic two thumbs and ten toes up. We broke a mirror on the back wall and never even heard it break. Long live home theater!

The attack sequence from Pearl Harbor.
A number of scenes from Black Hawk Down.

Apocalypto - Waterfall
BHD - Helis

Granted I'm just showing off higher bitrate DD until I get my HDMI receiver sometime this fall

House of Flying Daggers (I'm sure I don't need to mention which scene)
