Last night Televisa turned on the HD logo at about 1:30 AM for some reason. The weird thing is that they had already turned on the HD logo from about 6:45-8:53 PM. They turned it off at about 3:50 AM.

Yesterday, they turned on the HD logo at about 5:55 PM, and showed about five minutes of "Querida Enemiga" with the HD logo. It seems like this novela isn't in HD either, just Stretch-o-Vision. They turned off the HD, at about 9:00 PM, but at about 9:22 PM or so, it turned on again. They showed about 5 minutes of Alma de Hiero in HD, then they turned it off again. I was hoping they would leave the HD on for the News, but they didn't.

Yesterday I noticed that Canal de las Estrellas HD Juarez, wasn't sending their video in 1440X1080i. Now they're sending it in Real 1080i resolution 1920X1080i.

Also for about 2 days now, they've been turning on the HD Logo at midnight, and tuning it off at about 4 in the morning. It seems like, they're not getting any video or audio for the digital channels at these hours, so they've been turning on the HD logo. I was watching Channel of the Stars HD Juarez at about midnight, on Thursday, and all that was on was a blank screen, with no audio. Some time later when I switched back to the channel they had turned on the HD logo. On the SD channel though, they don't show anything for about 4 hours.

I say they should move this guy to the Primetime shift to see he does a better job with the HD than the guy who is there right now. Or they should try not sending them any video or audio, for the rest of the primetime shows that are supposed to be in HD like Alma de Hierro, and the news, that way they have to leave the HD logo on.

There was no HD for the UEFA Champions League Final today on TV Azteca 7 HD. Televisa Channel 5 showed the game also, but since we don't get this channel in HD here, I don't know if they showed it in HD. I really don't understand what the point is of TV Azteca showing this game on the HD channel, if they're not gonna show it in HD. From what I've read in the Thread about this game, UEFA sells any TV Station that wants it, the HD Feed.

Also since Canal de las Estrellas HD Juarez increased their Resolution to 1920 x 1080, there have been more defects whenever there is medium to fast movement. Before there were only defects when there was fast movement. I think they need to increase the Bitrate on the HD channel.

Since yesterday Canal de las Estrellas HD Juarez has been showing the HD Logo all day. So they've been showing all the HD shows they do in Mexico City.

Nightly Newscast in HD

Yesterday they didn't show the Midday Newscast in HD, but today they did.

Also for a while the TV Azteca HD channels have lowered their Bitrate to 11.388Mbs. The good thing about this is that if the channel needs more bits, it uses them, but during fast motion there is some Macroblocking.

thank you! the screen caps look so clear!
Do you have screen caps of the soccer game yesterday? (the finale), I watched a bit, they were swiching back and forth between HD and SD takes, the SD were mostly to insert the awfull full screen adds, that looked horrible! talking about clutter on the screen..

I don't have screen caps, but I saw that too. They were switching to a blurry low resolution widescreen SD camera to insert the adds. Lets see if TV Azeca shows the euro 2008 cup in HD.

As for Canal De las Estrellas Juarez going all HD, I have a theory. Could they be preparing to launch Televisa channel 5 in Juarez. I'm thinking that in order for channel of the stars to show the HD logo all day they needed some new equipment. So they could send the old equipment they used to turn on the HD on for 2-3 hours to the Channel 56 so the could turn on the HD during primetime.

Well the stupid idiots at Televisa HD Juarez are at it again!!! Today when I woke up I noticed that the retards had turned off the HD Logo! I dont understand WTF is wrong wit these people. The guys there had it easy, they didn't have to worry if a show was in HD, they just had to sit there and make sure the HD logo was on, and they go and do something like this.

It isn't just Juarez, i think the problem is nationwide , i live in Monterrey (top 3 city in Mexico) and we have the same problem here. I don't think you should blame the people in Juarez, you should blame the people from Mexico city, they're the ones turning on and off the HD signal. Televisa got a big problem in that area, not even the "superclasico" (as aguilas and "chicas" fans call it) was in HD

Nice screenshots, but I think what DRLar is referring to is the pats when they switch to a widescreen SD Camera and put an add in the 4:3 Area. It looked like there was a little TV in 4:3 area with th commercial in it.

In this case I think it is Juarez's fault. I figure that someone in Mexico sends them the signal, and for some reason they started sending it with the HD logo all day. Then someone at the TV station found a way to upconvert the SD signal they get and send that instead of the signal Mexico is sending. I remember seeing weird flashes in the video, and sometimes bit and pieces of scenes from a couple of minutes ago, when they had the HD Logo on all day. I'd seen things like this when it seems like they were trying to turn on the HD Logo.

They also had some macroblocking issue like they were 1/2 the bitrate or something.. fast panning/action looked like NBC's... LOL

Actually for some reason both the TV Azteca HD Channels have an average Bitrate of 11.388Mbps. Their Bitrate is lower than Televisa HD Juarez, which has a Bitrate of 11.76Mbps. I can understand that Televisa HD Juarez has a lower Bitrate, because they have the SD subchannel, but why does TV Azteca HD have such a low Bitrate. I remember that before, TV Azteca 13 HD used to have a Bitrate of around 17Mbps.
Wait, did you say Azteca 13? Where? I stopped receiving that like two months ago, now digital 11-x gets ABC signal

PS. +1 to the El Paso-Juarez area.. Makes me wonder if AS Warehouse is really making that much of a difference... (J/K)

Azteca 13 HD is on channel real channel 34-1. You should put that channel and check what kind of signal you get. Then you should move the antenna, to see if you get a better signal.
My PC recently detected 34-1 as 11-2... I don't know why but it's there.

I've had something like this happen whenever the TV Azteca channels loose the PSIP(Guide) data.

Today I saw on "La Oreja" that they were talking about HDTV at "Espacio 2008". They showed HD scenes on an HDTV from "Las Tontas No Van Al Cielo", "Pasion", "Fuego en la Sangre" and others. Well any way Espacio 2008 is supposed to be somewhere in Tamaulipas. This makes Me wonder if Televisa Screwed Up, when they started showing the HD Logo 24 hour a Day in Juarez. Could they have screwed up and sent Orders to guy who sends the signal to Juarez, instead of the Guy who sends The Central Time Zone Feed.

Also Today from about 6:30 PM or so to about 8:40 PM the TV Azteca HD Channels lost the PSIP data and were showing SD 480i and the shows from Azteca 13 and 7. the Channels said 34-1 and 36-2.

Today TV Azteca 7 HD showed Germany VS. Poland game of the Euro Cup 2008 in HD. Does anyone who has TeleRisa Channel 5 HD know if They showed it in HD.

Let's see if TV Azteca Or TeleRisa shows the Mexico VS. Peru game in HD.

Screenshots coming later.

Edit 6-9-2008

Well, neither TV Azteca, or TeleRisa showed the Mexico VS Peru game in HD. I Did however take a screenshot of the compression problems on TeleRisa HD Juarez.

Let's see if TeleRisa turns on the HD Logo for the Premiere of the novela "Cuidado con el Angel".

These capstures from Euro 2008 do not look HD. There is no usual HD clarity. They look like widescreen SD.

Today, on the Netherlands-italy, it was SD SOV, on channel 20-1.

Anyone in Mexico City or another place that saw this game? I think maybe Azteca Juarez screwed up and never turned on the HD..

It could be because it was at mid-day and on a weekday..

Both games were not HD and as CKNA said they looked like widescreen SD. I don't think televisa or tvazteca are going to transmit any game in HD
post #204 of 692
The Germany Vs Poland had at least the correct aspect ration, yesterday's game was stretched, let's see if maybe today they fix it.

Native it's supposedly to be in HD (as it's on ESPN HD), perhaps ESPN is charging an arm and a leg for the HD feed and Mexican carriers won't pay..

Here are some examples of the Bad compression on TeleRisa HD Juarez. Also as expected TeleRisa didn't turn on the HD Logo for the Novela Cuidado con el Angel. I doubt it's in HD though seeing as how it was really crappy quality video.

Also on Friday, both TeleRisa and TV Azteca announced a new sponsor during a commercial at about 9:30 PM , Soriana. They said something about how Soriana was now in Mexico City or something like that. Hopefully soon they'll sponsor some HD Shows, and w'l hve somewhere to complain locally.
Hahaha Soriana! hahahaha!

They can't even hook up their own HDTV's right... (showing a WRONG aspect ratio dvd on composite video on several TVs, imagine the quality).

I found an article about the type of Equipment I think Televisa HD Juarez is using.
http://www.snellwilcox.com/news_even...s_releases/203

I guess they picked a sponsor who wouldn't know HDTV if it were right in front of them. Also I read on the Internet that TV Azteca is going to be showing the Juarez Indios Games. I hope this is true Especially if TeleRisa HD continues with their Schedule-o-Vision. Let's hope that TV Azteca Shows Indios Games in HD.

We are getting ready at WORK for the Olympic games, since most of them will be in NBC HD, we are going to install an awesome antenna and amplified (to distribute on 4 HDTVs), they are asking me if Televisa or TVazteca would also transmit events, I said of course, what I don't know it's their HD plan, crossing my fingers for HD and not SD..

I'm also wondering if NBC is doing anything live, cause it's about 12 hours ahead in China, NBC does their "primetime broadcasts" instead of live ones. So basically you know who won before they air it!. That's why even more interesting about Mexican carriers, because they mostly broadcast them live.

Well I was thinking about when TeleRisa was turning on the HD Logo From midnight to about 4 in the morning. Maybe they were testing for the Olympics seeing as how this is when they would be on live.
