Tube Rolling Stories and Recommendations

Thought this forum might be a good place for posting info about which tubes ppl are having success with and why, and those that they've tried but didn't quite work out.

I have a Pathos hybrid amp with Mullard ECC88 Gold Pin, which I am very pleased with. This tube was the best performer of 2 others that I tried, just out pacing an industrial Russian Mil Grade NvOS offering and besting the stock Sovteks. Main improvements were in soundstaging, and overall tonal clarity in highs and mids. There was no noticeable difference in the lows.

I am particularly interested in thoughts on the following:
Tube Application
211 Amp
12AT7 Amp/Preamp
12AX7 CD/Preamp
EL34 Amp

PS: Anyone with any experiences with the EAT ECC803S gold pin?

Hard tp say what will sound good in your equipment. In my Moscode 401HR I have tried many and liked a few.

I have tried the following:

Amperex 6922 gold pin PQ white label - very good, my fav so far, open and full range delivery

Mullard 12AU7/ECC82 - forgot the year, very nice

Amperex bugle boy 7316/12AU7 - onlyso-so

Also have some RCA's which are nice, Philips 5814 wereokay

Just found a pair of the Siemens CCa grayplates this morning on Eb@y and am very excited to find those.

Guys at Audiocircle know a whole more than I do about tubes.

Not sure if anyone is interested, but I have had very good results with Eurotubes for advice and buying tubes. Bob is very knowledgable and helpful. BTW, no, I don't work for them.

12AT7 Amp/Preamp - ECG JAN Phillips NOS Circa 1980/Mullard NOS Circa 1980
12AX7 CD/Preamp - Tung Sol New Prod
EL34 Amp - Electro Harmonic Fat Bottle 6CA7 New Prod
