Question about putting a home theater together.

Sought of a noob here, please be gentle. Also, if this is in the wrong forum, please move to the correct one. OK, it looks like I might be moving to a house where I am going to mount the TV on the wall(flat screen LCD) First question, I do NOT want to have the ugly cable box showing, but I need it for the High Def.. Also, my current cable box has the built in DVR which my kids use frequently. How can I accomplish this with a clean nice look. THANKS in advance.

sandman512,

There are lots of threads here in the general and in the dedicated which can show you in detail with pictures many various ways to do this. Myself I ran a conduit to the panel location and will be using an IR repeater to run the devices (in your case it would be the cable box) which is out of site.
I have more detail in my thread and others have even more indepth information which you may find even more helpful in the dedicated area.

Good luck
Calvin

You can use a remote control that has RF (radio frequency technology, like cordless phones) so that you can put the cable box out of sight and still control it. Once you get used to not having to point at something to control it, it's hard to go back.
