Here is more analysis of MM's final episode. I really think some people over analyze the show sometimes....

Here is another great site that is referenced in that article. I think it is a better site.

Talk about getting DEEP in the episodes. These two guys get down to the costuming level and the messages that sends. After reading them about last weeks episodes, I rewatched it again and saw all kinds of things I missed the first two times I watched it. YIKES!

Heh, ya think? All one has to do is read one of scowl's posts for proof of this.

I guess I hang out with a different crowd than the rest of you. The people I know who watch Mad Men also watch Inside Mad Men at amctv.com and the extras on the Blu-rays. We talk about the characters and plots and stuff like that. We don't complain that there aren't any naked women on Mad Men.

Aww man... That was the Finale? Finally caught up. frown.gif Anyway... Poor Megan (again...) LMAO @ Pete. Is that a receding hair line? lol... That wife he's banging is pretty hot.
It was interesting reading that Pete's receding hairline was deliberate. IE they are shaving it back a little.

You know there are places you can get testosterone injections nowadays; sounds like you may be running a little low... biggrin.gif

Season 6 starts April 7, 2013 with 2 hour premiere. (Season 7 will be the last season.)

We spent July and August watching the first 4 seasons, and then watched S5 when it was released in October. Loved it!

I gotta say; you may miss out on all the talk and hype when you are late to the party (we did the same for The Sopranos and the majority of Lost), but sitting back and watching as many episodes on BD that you want, when you want, is very hard to beat.

The DVR has scheduled the 2 hour season premier this Sunday.

Death...Mad Men Style...welcome to 1968, and the modern American era.

I like the way that the Dick Whitman sub-plot returns.

Its like a late 60s spin on the pilot - while expertly juggling all the characters' developments.

This was the best looking HDTV broadcast I've seen , the colors, the lighting -cinematography, oh my.

Looks like the season 1-4 Don Draper is back...to his old tricks. wink.gif

yeah, the last few scenes of the Sunday's episode surprised me. eek.gif

What an absolutely great episode. Don, you are a bad, bad boy.

I was underwhelmed.

The parts with Betty were strange. Not very believable.

Maybe my expectations were too high.

Decent CGI trying to make Waikiki and Diamondhead look like how they did back then.

Took me a while to get into it; at first it felt, well, affected, like they were taking themselves too seriously. Maybe it's always been that way, but the self consciousness of it really put me off at first. But, it settled down and got better. Anyone notice that Don said about two words in the first 5 minutes? Weird.

I thought the second hour was much better than the first, although I did like the Hawaii experience... Roger really does rule, funny and deep, well done...

Dragged at times, especially with Betty down in the East Village and the Drapers at the Hawaiian Luau, but overall I enjoyed it. I am looking forward to the developments this season, and then to seeing how Weiner intends to bring the stories to a close next year.

I love every minute Roger Sterling and Sally Draper are on screen (and I especially enjoyed their "date" last season at Don's awards ceremony). They are great characters and fantastic actors. I also love Roger's moments with Mona, played by John Slattery's real life wife Talia Balsam. They make a great couple on screen and in real life. Very attractive people who don't seem too "Hollywood."

I was bored most of the show, but then I just don't care about the Betty story at all anymore.

That two hour episode should have been edited down to one good hour instead.

Wow at Megan in a Bikini (or without one too)... IDK that shot where she was laying on the beach ...

Why did Draper tried to forget about that PFC guy? reminded him of his own young years?

I just can't believe his cheating Megan, and with whom.... the mistress wasn't that hot either..

That seems to be a consistent feeling on every board I've read. I'm totally done with the Betty character. They should have cut her out of the show two seasons ago. She serves no purpose anymore.

It was hard to believe that mistress was Linda Cardellini. Way to go Lindsey Weir!

Oh, wow, I knew she looked familiar. She was also Nurse Samantha Taggart from ER.

It pretty much was after the ads - I swear it seemed barely over an hour to get through the whole thing.
This season premier was so slow i couldn't watch the whole thing at once. I got about half way through and stopped the show. It's DVRed, but unless the second half is way better I won't be watching any more. No where near the quality of the previous seasons.

I agree that it got off to a slow start, but by the end I felt like we were in full swing.

When the three couples were sitting around drinking in Don and Megan’s place, I was sure Don was going to sleep with the sandy blond, not the doctor’s wife. That surprised me.

I don’t know when they filmed this, but January Jones hadn’t lost the weigh she gained from having a baby in 2011. I thought she looked terrible. Subsequently, she has lost the weight.

What a transformation Peggy has undergone since S1.

She is still wearing a fat suit and they are trying to make "Betty" (not January) look overweight (for her).
