Do I need a upgrade?

Hello. I own a SA-HE70 Panasonic Receiver. I also have Mtx monitor 12 speakers and a powered mtx sub woofer. I just don't have a good room for surround speaker placement and I think its best everyone gets the sound equally from the front speakers. So its setup just for 2.1

I realize this is a budget setup but I'm happy with it for movies and music. Do you think it would really be worthwhile for me to upgrade?

I was considering something like the outlaw 2150 price range and just wondering how much better could it sound than what I have? Also what would be some good speakers and sub if you think necessary to go along with it?

I'm just about the only one I know that has a receiver and speakers so I have nothing to compare it to other than tv speakers.

I also had one more question. I was under the impression that optical was the best sound hook up but something like the 2150 only has rca jacks? Why is that?

probably boring questions for most of you but thanks for reading

Whether or not you need to improve your system is your call.

If you think you do I suggest you start listening to speakers; they'll make a far more profound effect on the sound than electronics will.

Note that the Panasonics have a better reputation with audio weirdos than Outlaw does, I know guys using Panasonic chip-amp receivers in VERY far out systems, some friends have replaced "audiophile" grade amps like Berning and AudioNote SETs and Monarchy class As with Panasonics.
