New PS3 need game help.

I picked up a PS3 a couple of days ago for use primarily as a blu-ray player. My nephews are coming in town this weekend and I would like to rent or buy 2 or 3 games for them to play. They are coming from an xbox house and play Halo2 and Madden a lot so I am going to rent Madden 07 since 08 is coming out in 3 weeks. Any suggestions on other games?

They will be playing on a 5.1 System with a 40 Bravia.

Thanks in advance.

How old are your nephews?

Super Stardust HD is only $8 from the PS store, and it looks great, plays great, and has co-op.

Virtua Tennis 3 and Virtua Fighter 5 are great 2-player vs. games that can work well as rentals.

Calling All Cars! is $10 from the PS store and can be fun for a weekend or so. It allows split-screen and online competitive play.

If they're old enough for M-rated content and haven't played the earlier Ninja Gaiden games on the XBox, Ninja Gaiden Sigma is a great choice, though it's only for 1 player.

Marvel Ultimate Alliance might be fun for them if you have more than one controller, and if they like it they can pick it up for their Xbox.

I would suggest Tony Hawk Project 8.

I say do not get Madden 07 ... for them to go from the 360 version to play the PS3 version ... they will be disgusted. Madden 07 for the PS3 was horrendous ... gladly sold it on ebay this weekend for $16.

Tony Hawk Project 8 is fun... I'm surprised that Resistance hasn't been mentioned, although I have to admit I'm not a good judge of what is considered acceptable content for 12 and 14 year olds... Having played both I would think that if they can deal with the violence in Halo 2 Resistance isn't really any worse (or am I just too jaded to notice?)

He said they have an Xbox... he didn't mentioned a 360. They might still like Madden PS3 version in HD as a rental.

Motorstorm and Resistance.

Let them play things they haven't played yet.

I second that suggestion. Even if they haven't played Madden 07 on the 360, I think they will be better off with Super Stardust or Motorstorm.

Played through Resistance on Co-op with my nephew and had a blast. He also loves Super Stardust and Motorstorm.

If they dig halo, then they will definitely like resistance.
