LR Speaker behind AT screen or behind GOM?

I am in fickle mode with my front speaker placement. Should I put them wider behind the GOM false front or....behind the AT screen and clser together.

The screen width is 170'diag.

I am using Triad platinum for LCR.
Thoughts?

My screen is 120" wide and I have mine just within the edges of the screen itself. However they are Revel M22's and have a wide soundstage in and of themselves. But they work fabulously well this way.. After all you don't want them too close to your side walls either.

In my last HT I had them out behind the gom but angled in towards the listening area.

Toeing int the speakers more than a little is not a great idea for a theater room if you can help it, works more in a listening room aimed at one or two people. Of course you don't say how much you had them angled.
Either way inside or outside screen will work ok and outside does make your masking tasks a bit easier.

I've found that placing speakers just outside the edge of the screen creates an unnaturally large soundstage. The width of the sound fits much better with the image if you place the speakers at least 1' inside the screen.

Not to mention that having the L and R outside the screen and the Center behind it will change the voicing of the 3 in relation to each other.

Masking raises a question. If the L&R speakers are behind an AT screen, then doesn't the masking material need to be AT as well? Have seen some DIY masking systems that used wooden panels, wouldn't seem to work with AT screen.

I am using a Black stretch Velvet which is very AT for my masking over my Smx screen on the rare occasions that I actually mask. I also fashioned my speakers platforms and AT wall covering so I could access the speakers and slide them outside the screen if need be but have not done so.
