Anyone know if the specs are the exact same for BD and HD? I probably should have asked that before ordering.

54.95 is the DVD set with briefcase.

69.95 for the Briefcase Blu-ray, 27.95 for the Digipak.

I wanted the case, but not for $42 more.

A search at Amazon for "blu-ray blade runner" turned up the five disc set for 27.95. For that price, even I couldn't resist hitting the order button.

I pre-ordered at Amazon to be safe, but I may cancel if I can use my mtv coupon on it, but if it's right below my $30 min. I might as well use it on two other upcoming titles. I so hate that the shopmtv website is sonicwalled at work.

Well I'm not an extras fan but I do know a future valuable collector's item when I see it. I ordered both the $28 disc only version and the $70 briefcase version. Weird that the latter version has the 10% discount already but the disc only one does not. Oh well, a 5 disc set for $28 isn't bad. I'm sure a buddy of mine will want to come over and watch all the versions included so at least it'll get some use.

Well, to be honest - I was thinking the same thing, too, before I saw (and ordered) it at that price. I just never got around to kvetching

As someone who doesn't worship the film, I'd still rather have one disc with the most appropriate 'final final really no seriously this is it' cut at their $18 price point.

If that price-point holds for the complete version, at least it will be within the realms of sanity. Then again, perhaps it is insane that we're still paying more for one combo disc of a Warner title than for five HD discs.

Is it possible that only the new "final director's cut" will be in HD...?
That would make sense price-wise if the other discs are SD...

Remember "The Matrix" ultimate HD set...? All the extras and even "The Animatrix" were only in SD...

Unfortunately only a $5.00 increase in the MSRP leads me to think that. All the press release says is "Both HDdvd and BD will have the same content and extras..." I haven't read anything saying ALL extras and alternate versions in HD anywhere. What could have been the most anticipated title for us geeks might quickly become the turkey of the year!

Not bad. I was totally going to get the Ultimate set. But $40 for a little case that I can't use(practically) and will probably end up in the closet forever. Finally I'm becoming a practical shopper.

So I got all the Kubricks plus Blade Runner for a little over $100. I am happy.

Once again, considering most BDs that are 2 disc list for $34.99 to $39.99, are we SURE that all 5 discs will be HD discs and that all the versions and docs are in HD....?!?!?!? How can they make ANY $ on this...?!?!?
