Netflix. Blockbuster.

The date change is likely to give the Final Cut version an exclusive run in theaters first.

According to THE DIGITAL BITS, there will be two 5 disc sets for hi-def. One set as a Digi-Pak with Collectible Slipcase and the other in a "Deckard Briefcase" w/Collectible Memorabilia.

Since I don't care of the "Collectible Memorabilia" I'll go with the Digi-Pak.

Some of us don't have Netflix memberships, and want a copy of this to keep without having to pay $50+ for it. We don't care about extras and such, we just want the movie.

What's with them? They think just because we have HD they can take advantage of us? I don't think this set will sell nearly as well as say The Matrix one (be nice to get that one btw) would because it's only 1 movie with lots of extras for the same price as 4 or 5 movies.

Milk us dry Warner. Milk 'till you can't milk no more. One day it's going to come back and bite you.

Totally agree.

I fully expect a 1 or 2 disc set to be introduced on both HD formats as soon as they believe the 5 disc sets have hit saturation, Much like Paramount broke up the Impossible Missions box and Warner will likely break up the Matrix boxes.

But was there an extra disc being sold with those sets or was it just the three movies being sold together? That was Paramount too, wasn't it?

I wonder if they are likely to make enough extra profit through this approach to offset the ill will they create.

And Paramount did sell the new one separately from the start.

Three months of works including restoring tape process and new mixes with the last Euphonix Serie 5 desk. This Project brings back a lot of memories to Vangelis from that laps of time. During the last weeks we found a lot of unreleased cues and musics composed for the film and never used in it.... ( Interesting moment of discovery ... )

If they're handing these guys a brand new Fat Mix, you gotta think it will be at least a DTS HD/MA. Remember, this is Charlie's Master Thesis. Expect no less than the best available audio.

I like the movie and all that but damn, 5 discs?! Can't wait to hear the price on this baby.

I'll echo those thoughts. I suspect Warner will release a trimmed down 1 disc version a few months after this big bastard's release.

I glossed over the DD 5.1 in the release before. I sure hope they put TrueHD on it, at least for the new DC.

I definitely want all cuts, or at least the new cut, the international cut, and the workprint. I just want to know how much more it will be for the briefcase. I'm totally geeking out looking at it, and I don't usually go for that sort of thing. Sure, I have the Showgirls VIP set, but it was cheap and I got a free T shirt!

I predict ~$100 MSRP easy. This is Warner we're talking about. Don't expect a single disc release any time soon afterwards either. Remember, we're still waiting on Batman Begins and V for Vendetta.

I'll be happy if they just release The Matrix Trilogy set like they promised, but I have my doubts about that as well.

While I will probably gladly pony up the dough for the 5 disc BD set, it just sucks that we don't at least have the option like with the SD-dvd.
And even if WB releases The Matrix trilogy on BD as promised, I won't buy it. I LOVED the first but thought the 2nd and 3rd were terrible.

I dont understand. Havent they heard about PCM? PCM should be the first to mention, not the "all new 5.1 Dolby Digital Audio".

The waiting for this to release will certainly be a itch i cant scratch....

Apparently Warner will get "Batman Begins" out on BD by Xmas no matter what, and possibly "V for Vendetta" as well.

Great, so that means the BD will only get a lousy 640kps track...?!?!?

All the other holiday Warner BD releases are getting TrueHD or PCM, and seeing as how we don't have official audio specs, perhaps we should remain calm.

Wow...i really can't believe some of you are complaining about this.

You're an extras fan, not all of us are. I'd much prefer a 1 disc version with just the director's or even theatrical cut of the film. I hate the idea of paying more for a lot of stuff I won't watch.

I'm a HUGE fan of this film and I'm a fan of movie-making. If that makes me an "extras" fan, so be it.

Obviously everyone who is complaining is only a casual fan of it. To everyone else, this is a wet dream.
