An easy to use, good sounding MP3 player for my Mom?

I'm looking for a MP3 player for my Mom. It has to be easy to use, and since she's only going to use it for music, music playback is important. 1-2 GB is enough and it doesn't need a big screen, the smaller the better, so I guess a flash player is the best option.

I've looked at models like the Creative Stone and Ipod Shuffle, but after reading numbers of reviews, it seems like they're just ok sounding.

Do you guys have any recommendations?

Cowon's products are known for their audio quality. Check out www.iaudiophile.net for more info and reviews on various cowon products.

Thanks for you answer, Ja Phule!

I've read really positive things about the Cowon players, especially about their music playback abilities, but they are a bit expensive. You pay of course for quality, so it could be a better investment than other less expensive brands.

I ended up buying a Creative Zen Nano Plus 1GB and a pair of Sennheiser CX300. She's so far very happy with it.

Good Sounding is in the headphones, not the unit. Buy separate headphones, do not use the ones that come with the unit. Ask your mom what type she prefers, in-ear or normal style headphones. and get a good pair.

The earbuds coming with the players are often pretty bad, so I bought a pair of Sennheiser CX300, which I think is decent. My Sony MDR ex71 are better in my opinion, though.

I got my dad a creative stone and it is great. Very easy to use and requires no software to transfer songs.
