Need AVS help to confirm issue with PS3 browser/my PS3

Thread Starter
I recently tried to peruse AVS Forum with the PS3 browser and ran into a complication I'd never had before; when clicking on an individual thread, the link would only lead back to the general Playstation area. I couldn't open a single thread!!

I confirmed this in many other sub-forums of AVS and can't figure out why this would be happening.

I'm hoping that some of you can try this and let me know if the same issue arises. That way, I can figure out if the problem is on my end or perhaps a post 1.9fw bug.

Thanks for your help!

I can get in and browse throughout any of the forums and threads. Not sure if that helps though.

Try clearing cookies and cache. Maybe that will help.

It happens to me too. I tried to browser to the backrounds thread and kept getting kicked to the top but not entering the actual thread.

Yup, after the update I have had problems as well. It seems to only occur if I don't enter the "Main Forum" page first. If I go directly to a sub-forum (gaming, blu-ray and hd dvd) from the AVS homepage, then I cannot access any threads. If I click onto the 4th page of a thread, I am mistakenly taken to the 4th page of the forum instead. At first I thought it might be a glitch with the messageboard, but I didn't have the same problem at work.

I'm going in directly to the Playstation area and can access all the threads. Lately I have clicked on the ">" button with both the mouse and the BD remote to take me to the last post.

Same here, although I didn't spend any time trying to diagnose it, since I had to stop screwing around and get to work =\\

It seems that firmware 1.92 has fixed this browser gllitch. When I tried to search dailymotion.com after 1.90, all it would do is refresh the page (now it works!). No problem with AVS now either. Not sure what else this minor update has addressed.

EDIT: Spoke too soon. Left AVS, this time I cleared cache and cookies. Went to the AVS homepage and from there, directly to the hd forums. Again, same problem -- could not access any threads. Also, I had confused dailymotion.com with veoh.com. Still cannot search veoh.com. Guess nobody complained to Sony about this. Will have to email them.

Ive been having the same exact problem also recently. Ill have to download 1.92 when I get off work. Hopefully that will fix the problem.

AVS still works with my PS3 without any problems (posting from my PS3 now). But that voeh site won't work with searches.

No problems with AVS with 1.92 (or prior versions) I go directly to the Blu-ray player forum. From their I have gone to other AVS forums with no problems.

I have had this problem for over a month and the update did not help......

I have posted this issue here and got very little response, so I thought it was my PS3 setup....Now at least it is not just me.

after weeks weeks with no help I posted this in the Forum Support area and still no help...
Then all of my threads got deleted and I asked why and they said they do not support the PS3 browser..

Go figure, and if anyone figures this out let us know...as all other forums I go to on the internet work fine.

I tried deleting cookies catch crackers outside firewall bla bla bla.....

thread delete pending

Same issue here... Click on a thread page only to take me to the 4th page on the forum... Strange, I havent tried it since last time...

If I start at the avsforum home page, I see this problem. If I start at a specific forum -- I have a bookmark for the blu-ray player forum -- then everything works.

Try typing in this address, which is this forum:

http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=880956

A pain to type in, but then you can bookmark it.

Ah, I was wondering about that. I was going to check if it still worked on my PS3 and then I couldn't find the thread anymore! I have the main forum page book marked in my PS3 and I use that without any problems. I'll go try in a minute to make sure nothing has changed recently.

I am posting this using my PS3 and it is working fine. I have a book mark for "http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/index.php?" in my PS3 bookmarks that I use to reach the site. Then I clicked on the digital audio area, then on playstation, then I clicked on this thread.

So, there must be something that is different from my setup than those of you having a problem. My PS3 is connected via a CAT 3e cable to a Lynksys WRT54G router. The router is then plugged into a Comcast modem. I have the latest PS3 update.

Ask me any other config questions and I'll let you know what I'm doing.
