Here is the change log from a post in avforums.com in the UK:

This is so funny. I spoke with Denon's Tech Support no more than three hours ago and the Tech told me there was no information as to any firmware upgrade coming out in the near future and to check their web-site once a week to see if anything shows up. Maybe I should call him back with an update.

I think it's pretty sad actually. When Tech Support doesn't even know that there's a new firmware out how much support do you really think you are receiving when you call?

Just finished the update and everything went as it should. My firmware now shows 1.118. I will say this was not the easiest firmware to update. Be sure to follow the instructions EXACTLY. It is not as simple as burn the disc and drop it in player and watch it update.

What upsets me a bit is my firmware was up to date according to the Denon site as of last night with firmware 1.104. I now find out that there have been several updates since that firmware that were never put up on the site for downloading. This is the update history according to the instructions....

1.018>1.100>1.104>1.107>1.111>1.115>1.118
post #1748 of 2524
I'm sure there will be more to follow, just don't call tech support to ask them when they'll be released.

finished the upgrade which all went well.

I've already seen all those movies and don't think I will watch any of them again. Any reason for me to bother with this firmware update?

Might be worth it as it also could be fixing future releases from universal.

I always try to stay current with the firmwares. They may change and tweak some other things that aren't mentioned in the change log. This upgrade fixes a problem with Universal releases that may effect you later if you opt not to upgrade. I would go ahead and do it but make sure you follow all the instructions completely. If you err it may require the unit be sent back to Denon for repair.

Thanks for the heads-up on the update. I completed mine today with no problems. I'm glad to see that Denon finally issued a fix for these problems. Good job Denon!

Please help me, I'm a bit confused by now...
When I tried to update firmware, after pushing the 9-8-7-6-top menu buttons, the player went into the update stage, but it gave no picture at all - I mean, the fw updating menu did not appear... All the connections were fine, I checked it twice. Since then, when I attach the player to my TV, it signs a "not supported format" message, when I attach to the receiver, it signs a "no signal" message.
When I push the player on, there's only one flashing, distorted picture on the TV, and the "not supported format" message again.
What can I do? Maybe the output of the player became faulty?

Let's begin with the updating side of things once it showed the version 1118 did you remove the disc and then closed the disc drawer? After that it updated in percentage and I lost picture also.

Please read the instructions carefully!!! It is supposed to be 9-8-7-6-Pop Up Menu/Menu.... Not Top Menu. Try that sequence or start the whole process over again. Hopefully your player will be OK.

Just went to the Denon web site to get the update and it said there was no update for my player. I'm having issues with Hellboy II. I have a version less than 1.118. Would not let me download the latest firmware update. This is utter bull.

Getting tired of BD and having to get firmware updates before I can play a movie. If DVD's were this bad when it started we'd all still be watching VHS.

Screw Denon, I'm taking it back.

Are you registered on the Denon Owners Club at the Denon website? This is the way I did it. Once registered and you log in, it shows the Denon model(s) you own. Scroll down to Downloads, select the model and type in the serial number of your player. Once you click on "go" it will take you to the download page. It worked like a charm for me with no problems.

ErnieW-Just wanted to say thanks for the help with the download. Everything is working good....TrueHD now. Thanks again - Roger

Well the update was a success! And I'm very happy to report that this update totally corrected the lock up issues on the Universal titles. I watched The Incredible Hulk in it's entirety with not a single freeze or lock up. Kudo's to Denon for responding to us 2500 owners and making this update available.

No, I'm not registered. I keep getting server errors. I have been trying to register since I purchased 1/3/2009. I thought the same thing so I tried again tonight. I have two emails into tech support. It let me create an account and says I'm logged in but will not allow me to register any components. I have several Denon products that I have registered in the past.

EDITED: yes I am registered. I was able to register back on 1/5/2009 and I've logged on now. It will not let me download the update

I'm fustrated with this product. I'm all ready to use this product and have to keep going back to my PS3. may as well not have this player if you cannot watch something when you want to.

Do not blame you on that pdjmwj, frustrating. I know for a fact Denon and returning/getting info back to you via email is nothing. They always have a automated response. Good luck to you...

I think a lot has to do with who you contact/call, as the people I've dealt with have be extremely helpful. And any questions I've had or help I've needed about a product, they would respond with the answer within 24 hours. Not all techs are the same and some are more willing to help than others. I was fortunate to reach some that really cared.

I have to say this recent firmware update has improved the Denon, which is good. Are you going to still keep this player Seth? You should ,it would like with your upcominng flagship one.

Yes this update has really improved the Denon. Yes I am going to keep this player, as it has been a very reliable machine. Basically it will be a really good back up player in the event I ever have to send the A1UDCI to Denon.

I know that either of those two players would serve you very well. For me if I wasn't looking for a fully balanced player, or one with SACD/DVD-A and Denon Link, I would probably have gone with the Pioneer unit. But I do want all those goodies (and then some), so for me the A1UDCI is exactly what I'm looking for.

Yes, I did everything as it was stated in the instructions. However, I lost the picture right after I tried to enter fw upgrade menu, and not during the process.
