Of course the movie referenced above played just fine on the PS3 on my other system. Failure was on the 2500. Any thoughts?

Is there going to be any update from Denon for the 2500 any one? It would be good if these new movies could load faster or at-least play smoothly.

I doubt the players will ever ever load faster. The only thing we can hope for is that they will continue to issues updates to allow playabilty. The 2500 was never a speed demon...

Hi, i have anthem avm50 processor and wants to buy the blu-ray player ,today will be a good choice denon bcdi 2500 the anthen don`t have the new format hd and the player needs to convert the audio to lpcm, in term of sound is the best choice?

The 2500 doesn't decode the audio formats it's just a transport player

It would be a great choice if you had the v upgrade to your Anthem but ya it does not do the audio for you. You need a good player with analog outs.

I use a Pioneer BDP-51FD sending LPCM over HDMI with my AVM-50. Analog connections are not required for this.

I'm thinking about purchasing this unit (Denon 2500 BTCI) but I have a question. I have a Denon AVR890. In connecting the HDMI from the 2500BTCI to the AVR890 and then an HDMI from the AVR890 to the tv, can I have the audio come from just the tv, if I dont want to play it through the reviever. There are many times that I just want to watch a disc with only the tv speakers.

I appreciate any help in the matter. Thanks.

You still need to have the receiver on to pass the signal, just the volume down. The 2500 only has the one output.

I'm not sure whether you're right here. My 3808CI does pass the HDMI through when in stand-by mode. As the 890 roughly equals the 2311, I GUESS it will behave the same…

Hi
Suddenly my 2500BT won't turn on
Earlier today everything was fine, but then this evening it just wouldn't turn on: the power button turns from red to green only for a second and then it's back to red
I have a BD disc inside which I can't get out to play in my other BD player
I tried removing the power cable for a while but that didn't work
What do I do?

It was a HDMI problem, apparently
I don't really know why the error occured as I still use the same cable (disconnect, connect again)

For all you DVD-2500BTCI owners out there I had an interesting email response form Paul Belanger Product Specialist @ Denon Canada regarding the latest firmware V1.122 for this player. I loaded it on my machine the other night and have not noticed any improvements/ menu enhancements but it was supposedly issued in July and is supposed to address playback issues for What Women Want.

Has anyone else been made aware of this new firmware version for this player?

Released in July for DVD-2500BTCI, I don't think the usa ever put it up on their site..fixes issues with What Women Want.

Was this firmware just released? This version does apply to the DVD-2500BTCI right? Can find anything on the web about V1.122 for the DVD-2500BTCI BluRay player. Just being cautious before load on my machine tonight.


We will update as needed for disc compatibility issues.

I purchased a DVD-2500BTCI from Crutchfield last November while they were still available. I am just now getting around to setting up my home theater and would like to get the firmware updated on the unit.

I've tried going through the download page, filled out the form several times, tried several different browsers, but all the I ever get downloaded is some form of a PDF file that can't be read. I opened the file in a text editor and it is just a bunch of HTML.

I've contacted Denon via email but haven't received a response. Can anyone help or tell me where I can download this firmware update? I know I'm sort of late to the game, so hopefully someone can help. Thanks, Mike

Yes, I experienced the same issue on downloading the latest firmware for DVD-2500BTCI on Oct 19, 2010:
- a broken pdf file (cannot be read)
- no firmware file

I am not sure what's going on. Any help?

Have any of you tried contacting Denon to inform them of the issue when you download the file? They are in the process of updating their web site; I think this has something to do with it. But they should get their act together and fix this immediately.

When I contacted Denon, I explained the issue I was having with the web page. I received an email from support the day after I posted here. They are sending an installation disc to me in the mail.

I know this post was more than 2 years ago, but maybe some of you are curious why. The noisy transport was not designed by Denon at all. It was designed and made by Funai, along the entire unit being assembled by Funai (not Panasonic). This transport was also found and used in lower-end Magnavox DVD players made 5 years ago. But Denon designed the specs.

I'm a new proud owner of the Denon DVD-2500BTCI. I know this model for too long but never buy it because of price. The retailer where I bought from had this model for too long and not selling and ended up marking it at $99.90 from $349.99 a few weeks ago. So sad. So I took all three. They sold all three to me at a huge loss but they were glad to get rid of them to free shelve space. Why did no one buy them?

I took the time to read all 83 pages, but no one has take notice this before. This player, along with the 3800, was actually made and assembled by Funai that makes Magnavox. NO JOKING. It is not made and assembled by Panasonic or Denon. Components were made by Funai according to Denon specs.

How is the reliability overall? Because of it's huge size, maybe I should use them as a commercial 24/7 Blu-Ray player rather than as consumer use.

I have two I think there great players and that was a great price you paid for them. I wish more manufacturers did transports like the Denon. I don't need the other connections.

Picture quality is great I have to admit I dont use it for music. My Oppo is good but is having problems interacting with my Duo properly apart from that the oppo is great also. I wouldn't of bought the oppo but it had subtitle shift, that was the main reason for the purchase.
