Do I have that right, or am my missing something and way off base?

Somebody has to be first right?

I know what you're saying, but with the speed this has moved at on the "Up to the second" internet information highway, are you suprised? I mean they just started shipping technically today.
My only issue with this whole thing...

Why announce the release and availability of a new product when you're in the middle of a big move? You're going to have people knocking down the doors with questions and orders, yet you're not making yourself available to ship/answer email's/phone calls/post spec's/pics etc. Maybe the folks who pulled the trigger already are financing the move?

I bought one, I know $918 isn't $9000, but if I don't see something here by the end of next week, I'll be placing a call to cancel my order...

LOL...........this is like listening to the SciFi channel. I wish I would have opened my e-mail from Karen @ Epik last Saturday because I probably would have received it by now. I would've snapped some pictures for you guys (unless asked not to).

I can only speak about the Phoenix I have. It was NOT my first sub BTW This thing is built to the gills and is one hellava nice piece of HT gear. In fact, so was my Mirage S12 and my HSU 3.3 for that matter. But, the Phoenix took it to the next level. I have had many conversations with Chad and my opinion of him is he is a very stand up knowledgable guy. IMHO, he is a bit over his head and is trying everything he can to keep his overhead costs down. IMHO, I think he needs to step up the CS side of things in order to stay on top of his game.
He makes an excellent product that delivers the goods we anal people expect. Now its time to improve the CS part of the business even if it means raising prices.
Now about these new Empire owners posting here. I don't buy half the stuff they have posted here, sorry
When Chad posts his specs on this Empire sub, I am sure it will be everything that people would expect.

I will be canceling as well if I don't see something significant soon and buy an A5-350 or two PC-NSD's instead just out of principle

Maybe no pics because of accordian surrounds?

I joke!!! Sorry lol!

I'm actually curious to see more pics myself. Im sure it rocks. They wouldnt have discontinued their 18 sealed if it didn't.

What principle would that be? Just curious as I have nothing but praise for the customer service I've received from Chad and Karen. I understand that people have had a hard time getting through at times and I hope they continue to improve that facet of their business. All three of my Epik subs have thoroughly impressed me and I continue to offer them my patronage, hence the order of a new Empire. So, for those that have ordered the new sub, I hope it performs up to your and my expectations. Pics will be out soon fellas.....relax, it's just a product and it's nice to know there is such a demand for that product.

I recommend to chill out a bit. I think the reason for this strange product launch is that Epik is moving and things are a little disorganized right now. At least that is my impression after reading the newest blog entry. In my opinion the Empire is real simply because it does not make any sense to announce a vaporware product that does not exist and because Epik has a reputation to deliver.

I also assume that Chad does not know HTML, otherwise the order link would be on the main page, not in the blog. I think the fog will clear in a couple of days also that may seem like an eternity to some :-).

FWIW, the order link is up in the blog.

Yea it will clear tomorrow when one of the members in here gets his, and has agreed to post his photos.

All the grief is to those who claim to have one.

I beg to differ...its not just a product...in a sense, one is buying the company as well. Support; service; and the confidence that the company will be around for some time.

Just incase anyone doesn't want an empire but wants a Phoenix instead. I just lowered my asking price in the classifieds. And no I am not selling my Phoenix for an empire, in case anyone is inquiring. Proven awesome and well known the Phoenix is.

Hey guys. Just wanted to post for a second. I asked our customers not to post pictures because we wanted to post them first on our website, simple as that. At this point, go ahead and post pictures if you want to post anything. In fact, I will post some pictures for you too!

I guess I didn't realize that everybody would gang up on you guys so badly. Sheesh!! I didn't even realize how loyal our customers were until now.

However, this is always a sign that we are doing well. I have watched this happen every time I release new product. First there is a lot of drama and then a lot of happy customers suddenly pop up online.

It appears that the Empire scares some people. Some of the things I am reading are making me laugh.

The subs are ready to roll. We can't wait. In a few days there are going to be so many Empires out there that I won't be able to stop pictures from being posted anyway.

Mine

I want to support Chad and what he is doing but its not exactly like were asking for more than basic information on a product. If there was going to be a delay, say the product isn't available yet and release specs and pics before it actually goes up for sale. The reason why people are bothered is because people claiming to have them already cant take 5 minutes to snap a pic out of a supposed respect for Chads wishes.

EDIT:

Thats a start, thanks Chad. Now go crazy photographer Curt!

Great news! I'm very happy with my dual Sentinels but have thought of "upgrading" to the Empires. Would this be a huge increase in performance? When will you have more info available to us on the performance? I understand you're busy but people are anxious, and that's a good thing! Also, what about positioning with the subs firing outwards on opposite sides? Thanks for any and all info!

Chad... Are you done with the 18" driver? If not how far off would it be before I could get some sort of 18" model?
Hmm, pallet after pallet of the new Empires ready to ship, and all the other subs are out of stock. Seems like the handwriting is on the wall... new products are taking over!

Sweet Chad. I see mine is the third one in the second row. Please tell Karen thank you for the e-mail and PM's. Very nice lady you have working with you and I wish you continued success. Albeit, my shaking walls are not too happy with another sub on the way.

Thanks for the pics Chad. My subs have reached Wichita and are set to be mine tomorrow. As soon I get them into the house, and even
before I set them up I will take and post pics too in a real-world home.

Though these will be my first high end subs, as I don't consider my prior Klipsch, Yamaha, and Polk subs to be the real deal, I run with a crowd of HT geeks and they are each drooling with anticipation of my new babies due by FedEx stork on January 28, 2010!!!

I expect this event to be titled: "The Empire Strikes First!"

Too bad Chad had to chime in...the conspiracy theories some people were designing were becoming humorous...

Well done, Chad. Too bad the Castle you sold me is so well built, because it might be awhile before I feel the need to upgrade
post #10913 of 19474
that's a lot of subs waiting to be shipped out!!!

happy Epik customer here. keep up the good work.
This has been driving me crazy all week. I've had the order page open on my computer since Monday!

I was hoping to get a response from some forum members on which route to go.

My room is a dedicated home theater 15'x19' with 8' ceilings. I have room under my stage wall for two subs but not sure how much more it would really buy me and if it is worth an extra 900 for a very moderate amount of performance gain.

My receiver is a Denon AVR4806 which is a 7.1 setup so would duals really do that much for me?

Since the Empire is dual drivers anyway is that giving performance similar to dual subs?

Any advice is appreciated, I want to submit my order by tomorrow morning.

Thanks,
Ordman.
