A pair of Klipsch Promedia SWS & a Dayton 10" powered sub. Mediocre at best.

I have to be honest and wonder if it is worth me selling one of my Sentinels and look at having an unbalanced Empire/Sentinel set-up.

Personally I wouldn't do that. That is unless you're unhappy with the Sentinels. If you are, I'd experiment with equalization first before I went out buying new products.

I know the dimensions are smaller on the Empire, but my single 15" driver Tower weighs more than the Empire with (2) 15" drivers. Wondering if the Empire uses a magnet stack that's smaller than the 1st generation Epik products. My Tower weighs 130lbs and the Empire weighs 120lbs. I read the comments by craigsub, and am wondering about the value of the Empire. Yes it meets a pricepoint, but I know with certainty it shouldn't outperform a Submersive.

Well for more than twice the price the submersive should be more than twice the performance of the Empire

Lucky, mine says its in Sacramento about 20 minutes away from me here in Davis, Im hoping this means that it is coming today so I hope I get a call from the shipper as well. I figured there would be a bajillion pictures and testimonials up by now long before I actually got mine but I guess not. I will definitely contribute these things the same day I get mine, sure hope that day is today

Well she's here,
the local carrier they used was three blocks away from work, so I called them up and just went over and picked it up. Good reason to get out of the office for the day!!!

1. Firstly, this thing is heavy, so be prepared to do some lifting

2. Someone stated yesterday there was no "Auto Power/Standby " switch, incorrect THERE IS ONE, had me worried...

3. Currently running MCACC...

Some pictures, I know folks wanted to see both drivers, so I tried to help those folks out with the mirror

Box, Double Boxed, Power cord, foam inserts, Sub in soft material wrap.

AMP, Auto Standby Power Switch

Driver/Drivers

For size comparison, next to a Brick/Mortar Klipsch "Sub 10"

Closeup of the surround

If you want to keep both, when I spoke to Chad, he said a Sentinel and an Empire would complement each other nicely. Give him a call if you want to question him further regarding that setup. He did also say to me that he didn't want to take anything away from the Sentinel's performance, that it was a very capable sub.

My mistake. There is definitely an auto-on/standby mode. I fixed my earlier post as I do not know exactly why I typed the opposite of what I intended too. Ugh!

On a side note, I am reconsidering whether or not I really need two of these bad boys. I've decided to upgrade my L/R fronts from Klipsch WF-35's to Klipsch XF-48's.

The pictures should work. You just have to pull the right "image location" url. This is yours:

Hey tweakerinwa how does that klipsch sub 12 compare to your new Empire in the mid-bass output and sound quality. Congrats on the new toy and nice pics.

Where did you get that URL/Image Location ?? I just signed up to flicker to post the pics??
You go to the picture you want to embed, and right-click it. Select "copy image location." It should come out like this "http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4036/4322264401_1678cfac37_b.jpg"

Then you put that between tags that are square brackets [] with "IMG" inside. One in front of the jpg url, and one at the end with a slash "/" before "IMG".

Well I'm usually pretty good at this stuff, but I dont have "Copy Image location" as an option when I right click the pic... What I did was hit the insert image button and copy and paste URL from Flicker for the pic, I'm still at a loss as to where you get the farm5.static.flicker and the extended location "_1678cfac37_b" from

The url from the address bar on flicker is for the page, not the actual location of the picture.

If you're logged into that account, when you go to view your own pictures, in
"all sizes", at the bottom it should have the url location of the actual picture.

I get the "copy image location" when right-clicking in FireFox. I assume you're using IE, which doesn't have that. Instead, go to "Properties" and it will tell you the address/url of the jpg. Copy/paste that whole address. If it ends in "xxx.jpg" then it should work.

Tweaker, just because I'm paranoid when I comes to such things, I would suggest removing the image with that info and ask for a PM request instead.

Thanks for all the pics!

No worries, my 120lb Malamute doesn't get along well with strangers That coupled with the ADT I'm pretty safe...

If someone wants to deal with that, I say go for it!! Heck my dog scares me from time to time, I don't know if you're familiar with the breed, but they are pretty damn hard headed at times and he's a big boy...He respects the wife as being the pack leader, but to him I'm his buddy, and at times he can forget who's boss...Love him to death though...

Not even a comparison really, it's a Sub 10, but no big changes there....

Firstly I'll have you know I recently started getting into HT, I was a big car audio guy for years, then I had to grow up (get old). I'm not old per say, it's just not as fun anymore rolling around town in the car with the Subs pumping out that beautiful bass making the car next to you rattle. I'll also have you know this is my first real HT sub outside of your typical B & M brands. I was big into JL Audio subs and Rockford Fosgate Amps (before they went mainstream) in the cars (entered many of novice comp's and did my own work), Those JL subs hit hard and deep from your mids down, I can say that this is the closest I've come in the "House" to experiencing that same hard hitting type of bass without getting muddy and distorted. I've taken myself back a few years so far and have listened to some tracks I use to roll around playing to show off my car audio system's

Korn- Korn "Blind"
RKelly - 12 Play
White Zombie - Thunder Kiss '65
Luke Skywalker/2live Crew (all bass, all the time, lol)
Metallica - "Black"

This empire handles them all well from the mid bass down, I love the hard hitting bass lines in Korn and you can't beat Lars Ulrich's double thumpers hitting you in the chest. To bad the wife's going to be home soon..

I've yet to do any movie watching, but I'll do some tonight. Probably some of the titles sticky'd in this Sub section....

Edit: I'm also waiting for my 25ft sub cable and F/F adapter (get's here Tues) to place my sub where it should be, sounds good now, but according to my "crawling" ears, I need to move it across the room in the opposite corner...

Love Malmutes. When I was a boy my grandfather bread Malmute/wolf hybreds. They can be a real challenge but very loyal. My guy is a 140 lb Goldie/Blk Lab mix wiht some Nufie in him. Love him and he's now 9.

Nice pictures Tweaker...looking good!

I thought the Empire photo/s on the Epik website showed the sub with the little rubber feet on it. It didn't look like yours had these. Am I missing them in the photos?

Both of mine came with the legs attached. I assume the 120lbs has them nicely pressed into the carpet and pad.

It also looks like it's gravitating on the website.. They're there, like Silver said, in the carpet.. Which will be hardwood like the rest of the house by the end of this year !!!Just bought this house last year, nice hardwoods throughout, EXCEPT in the addition they added on, frickin cheeseballs...
