Then I was going to get the HSU VTF3-HO . Then I switched over to the SVS BP13U. Then I find out about Epik. The Tower seems to be the way to go over the BP13U. But then there's the Conquest.

So currently I have an energy s10.3 sub in a 13.5 x 18 x 8.5 room with a open door that leads to a hallway/kitchen on the side and another open door in the back that opens to the foyer and dining room.

My speaker arrangement is as follows:
Front: Def tech BP7001 driven by Carver TFM55
Center: CLR3000 driven by TFM15
side surrounds: BP2000tl driven by TFM35
rear surrounds: BP7002 driven by TFM35
All running off a HK AVR325
Buttkicker LFE kit

Any thoughts/opinions on what would work well given the room and current setup. I was thinking the Tower (since it seems compareable to the PB13U), but the Conquest does seem appealing based on everyones responses/experiences here. The Conquest is $500 more plus cost of shipping differences. Would it be extreme overkill for me? (Yes I saw Dennis's post above mine) Granted everyone's listening preferences are different. Any advice or suggestions would help before I pull the trigger. And I can't wait for Craigsub to do his shootout cause I want to upgrade now.
I listen to HT 85%.
Thank you in advance
Buk

My room is similarly sized, but open to another 5500 cube. I'm running a single Ultra13. It's more than plenty. Since from the looks of the Tower's graph, there's a few dbs advantage over the U13 from 15-60hz, I'd think it would be more than enough. That being said, if you just have to have bestest and the mostest, then the Conquest is calling.

You definitely don't need a conquest.. I'd go with the tower if i were you.. Maybe even something smaller as you will have more placement options.
Ok, after reading all 42 pages of this thread I have ordered a conquest and will be picking it up shortly as I am somewhat local. This will be running with some Polk RTI12's in front driven by a Sunfire Signature 7 400 amp. I can't wait until this weekend! Thanks to all that have contributed to this thread!
Best,
Chris

Anyone have a coupon code for Epik subwoofers? I'm looking for free shipping.

Thanks,

well I talked with Chad yesterday and he seemed to think the Tower would be ample enough for my room, etc. But then I started thinking if I had the Tower I would always have this haunting thought in the back of my mind "If I just would've spent a little bit extra money.....hmmm"
plus we're going to be moving to a bigger home in a year. So why not.

So I ordered the Conquest and now I'm like a kid waiting for Christmas.

What size is your room ? Sorry if I missed it somewhere. I'm on the fence too. Mt room is 13 x 22 x 7ish.

Go for the Conquest, you do not want to feel like you need to upgrade any time soon.

What about 2 Towers? Is it still better over 1 Conquest?
2 towers would probably be about the same as a conquest, maybe slightly more in some areas if you located them together.. If you put them in different areas of the room it would flatten your response but not give you any extra output.

Well, to be fair, it would still give you some extra output, just not the +6dB depending on the crossover frequency.

For example, if I crossover at 40hz and want to keep the subwoofers within 1/2 wavelength, the subwoofers could be separated by 14' and still benefit from +6dB I believe. I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure this is how it works. So, depending on your room dimensions, you might be able to "have your cake and eat it too"!

I get +4 db with both subs on the side of a different couch @ 14' apart. But that just with 2 modest PB10. Not an Epik but telling my experience with of 2 subs. Sounds alot better IMO

Im looking for the same thing.....I want to pull the trigger on the Conquest but the $200 extra for shipping puts it out of my price range.

Keep saving and then pull the trigger, dont sell yourself short. Im thinking of going for two Conquests but will have to bring them into Japan. Imagine shipping on that.

My room is 15x15x9 so I decided to get the Tower. I kept thinking about the Conquest and called Chad to talk to him about it before my order shipped. He told me in that size room the Tower should easily be enough. So I kept my order of the Tower. I then asked him if I felt like I needed more if I could stack 2 Towers. He said 2 Towers can be stacked and the output would be more then the Conquest. Chad told me the way his line is set up 2 of any sub under the next one of his line up will surpass the next one. Example 2 Towers more output then Conquest. So I will try one Tower and go from there. I am hoping one will be enough. I am going to run it with my 2 SVS 20-39's. The SVS'S will be in the back of the room and the Tower in the front. I will try different combinations . Tower only and both runnig and see how I like it. My Tower should show up today so this weekend I will be playing around with my subs.
I'm sure that a single Tower will outperform dual SVS 20-39's. You might run into frequency response irregularities if you have all three running. Different tuning for the various subwoofers.

But try it out. I would be interested to see what the results are. I'm sure you'll be very happy with the Tower. Now if only Chad could offer international shipping. I really want to buy one of these things but he is practically forcing me to look elsewhere and I really want to support his products.

13.5 x 18 x 8.5

I know the tower would suffice to say the least, but I went with the Conquest just so I wouldn't always wonder what I was missing for the extra couple of hundred bucks. Plus I wanted something to work with a larger room if need be for when we move next year.

But....all this talk about 2 Towers has got me thinking now 'cause I didn't think of that before.

Darn it!

Sorry man! Didn't mean to make you start second guessing your purchase! You can always add another Conquest right?

Any word on the new 12" sealed sub yet Chad? I sent an email to epik but to no avail. I just want to know how much it will be and when it will be available. Can you at least give us some idea Chad? Inquiring minds want to know.

It sucks ilving in an apartment. I can't wait to move.

Hello Chad-any new on the new 12" sealed sub that is posted on the epik "news" section? I believe you said you would have some info on it sometime this week. I have sent several email to epik regarding this but no one has gotten back to me. Not really sure if it is being flagged as spam or not. If you do please share it with all of us because so many of us want to know. I will be buying a new sub very very soon and I am very interested in this new 12" sealed sub. I need to know how much it will be and when will it be available??? Please Chad enlighten us. Have a great day.

LOL! Yeah the Conquest I'm sure will be plenty. It just sucks right now waiting for it. The days feel like years.
Can't wait to report back when that baby shows up.

I received my Tower yesterday. Tomorrow I will hook it up and try it out. The texture black finish that Chad is using is very good. I was impressed with the finish. If I don't like the setup with the 2 20/39's I will move them to my tv room and keep the Tower in the theater room. I will let everyone know how they worked together.

Guess there is no recent news yet on the new 12" sealed design. Too bad, because I will be ordering a sub very soon. Was hoping to learn more about this particular sub. I have sent Epik several emails to find out more BUT nobody has gotten to me as of yet. I mainly just want to know the price range that it will be in. I do know it will be more expensive than the valor but how much more is my question.

I am very interested and most importantly, what kind of price range will it be? You mentioned on the blog that it will cost more than the Valor-any idea of how much more? Dont mean to pry but am now just learning about your products/company. I will say I am impressed the products are made and assembled right here in the US. I also am aware the amps are made up North but by all accounts seemed to be very reliable and well made. Thank you for your reply Chad. Looking forward to hearing from you again real soon.

Hey man, give Chad a break. He's not going to get it done any sooner with you constantly barraging him with the same question.

My bad...........not trying to barrage him at all. Some of my questions have to do with the Valor NOT the new 12" sealed sub. But, I am more interested in the 12" and just trying to get an idea of the price range it will be sold at. Sorry, if I came across this way. I plan to buy a sub soon and trying to consider all possibilities that are within my price range. I owe it to myself to get the absolute best sub for my hard earned money that is suitable for MY application. Hope you understand where I am coming from. Just trying to avoid that "what if" that I encounter quite often in this hobby as do many of us.

I feel your pain. I too can get fixated. I just don't always post about it. Many movies go unwatched and music unlistened to as I obsess over my next subwoofer.

I got to get outside more.
