Just saw your classfied ad. It says you have an Empire for sale. Are you selling an Empire or a Legend??

If its the Empire consider it sold.

not really...that's a way to get more calls, and now you have a fighting chance on trying to sell the legend to someone. i don't think you subconsiously put in Empire one bit.

We never get tired of conspiracy theories, do we.

Not really, for some reason I always get the Legend mixed up with the Empire. I don't know why (stupidity?). I feel like a real idiot
because I had to respond to over 15 emails, apologizing for my idiotic error.

Also, for what it's worth, I got this quote from another web site.....take with a grain of salt. Mods, you can delete this if need be :

"To put all of your concerns to rest. I have been frustrated with the communication or lack there of coming from Chat at Epik. This led me to doubt the stability of the company. I did get in touch with Chad today and found out that they are extremely healthy. He sincerely appologized to me for not getting back with me and the rest of you. He has been working crazy hours and traveling to finalize parts. ALL of the subs are made in house by hand and the holiday sale was 5 times more than expected. It will be a couple months before product is ready to order, but he is very excited and will be introducing VERY SERIOUS NO HOLDS BARRED subs going forward while keeping the price very reasonable. He told me he sincerely appologizes and would do a better job communicating with the public".

I feel for you guys that are having troubles with your epik. I hope for the best.

This does seem like a suspiciously long hiatus for any business, really. But speculation is currently without merit, some people have talked with him and until he's fled the country--anything is possible.

My 2 Empires are still rocking. My girl hit one with our Kirby and knocked the Epik sticker off it, but it was refastened and seems to be holding.

My amps don't get anything above warm. I use them for music and home theater and have a wonderful experience.

The current debacle certainly would color my decision to consider Epik for an upgrade, if one were available in the future.

It was posted here too..

Yes it was....as a Legend. I honestly do not need the money from the sale of a Legend, or an Empire. (Lucky that way).
I 'm sitting here, at the desktop, and there is a perfectly good Legend over in the corner, going to waste. I just purchased
2 PSA XV-15's, and trying to justify money to buy a third one (null at listening position). So I'm in this thread and
put the Legend up for sale in this thread. 10 min later I go to create an add, and like an idiot put in Empire instead
of Legend in the ad.. (I know, interesting story). rolleyes.gif

Keep the faith, the new subs are gonna be awesome!!

If anyone around Ohio/Michigan is looking for an Empire mine is in the classifieds.

Only reason I'm thinking of selling is because I accidentally wandered into the DIY section and now I think I need to build my own sub :-D
post #19184 of 19475
does anybody know when these new subs are coming out? i called Chad, but i can't seem to get ahold of him.
I would think that it would be after he gets enough funds together to meet minimum order requirements for the drivers and amps plus whatever materials are needed to construct the cabinets (assuming that's still going to be done in-house). Then I would assume he needs to find a new place to do this all in unless he's still paying the lease. So, I guess it all depends on what kind of a job he hooked himself up with in the mean time and how much he can save towards that end.

Just talked to Chad, he has amps for replacement. He said no one is calling him, but he has been in and out as well. He asked that anyone who needs one give him a call or send him an email. He's ready to get people's subs back up and thumping.

FWIW, when I had my empire, I had FAR greater success when I called him as opposed to email.

To be successful, buisinesses need to recognize that voice communication is increasingly less favored with younger consumers. If a business provides several means of contacting them, then it must be equally diligent in responding to all inquiries in a timely fashion.

Eager to see what he has in his pipeline.

Does anyone really wonder why? They are irrelevant anymore, with crappy customer service, and no product to sell to boot.

Why would anyone want to risk a dime on this guy, when we have top notch suppliers locally in Seaton and JTR, who actually have the ability and interest in responding to their customers in a timely basis, instead of coming up with cockamaimy excuses months later after another self-imposed exile. I'm going to be meeting with Mark at the show today, and hopefully get some guidance on the Terraform XL. It's between a pair of those or a pair of the Captivator 2's, or even perhaps a couple of Orbit Shifters.

Even if Epik has something that could even get close to this level of performance, which they don't by a long shot, how can you possibly trust the guys track record over the last couple of years?

Imho, I wish him well, but I've had one to many emails and calls left unreturned, and I just can't support that kind of nonsense. I'm voting my dollars somewhere else this time.

Sad to see...

That's impossible, Chad said no one is calling him. LOL

Question for u guys. How would a epik legend perform as a bass module? Sort of like the mbm-12. I will pair it with the epik conquest.

Sent from the TermiNOTEr! ;-)

Hmmm ...... this combo could be very complimentary.

I would also like to know if you ever paired the Legend with your Conquest?

My Empire's amp went out after 6 months tops. Lsound in the EU replaced it promptly, their service is simply legendary.

8 months with the new amp and going strong, it does get quite warm if left in standby mode, but when it is working, it stays cool, even when watching 5 star bass movies at reference levels for the full two hours. Barely breaks a sweat. And it is a facking great sub, I love it, I have it paired with another sealed B&W sub and the two work well together.

Lsound stopped doing business with Epik last year because, and I quote "it is just too difficult doing business with the guy"...so he lost his only EU distributor because of poor CS.

Chad is shooting himself in the foot. I certainly love my sub, but when it comes time to replace it, I won't be giving my hard-earned money to Epik (and even if I wanted to, he burned bridges with his only EU distributor, who has a sterling reputation Europe wide for classy service).

Two steps forward and 8 steps back. That has been Epik's business through out the years. He never gets the customer service part of his business. I can see why Lsound stopped doing business with Epik.

Took about a week for the amp to get to me, he paid shipping both ways too. It works just as good as when I first got it.
