Now, I have purchased (2) Sentials and (2) Empires in the past from Chad and personally picked them up from his former facility in Crystal Lake and his latest one in Woodstock. Chad spend a great deal of time with me discussing not only his product, but location and configuration information that I found very useful for my situation. Add his exuberance to leak details of his future plans and you can see that he had a passion.
With that being said, I am saddened that he could not run the business side as well as he did the technical side. Those that have warranty problems have a right to be angry. Those that were lucky enough that had his ear, I am sure were satisfied that he tried to do the right thing.
But you do reap what you sow and IMO his mistake was not communicating to his customers of where his business was at the time. Most of us don't know if he tried to get outside help or had personal issues that created this downfall. I do know that my interactions (face to face and on the phone) do not paint the picture of a villain, but of someone that could not bring together the ugly side of business with the love of the craft.
Again, I am not defending his inaction or failure to take care of those of you that have valid warranty claims and other issues. I pray that you all find some resolution in the near future. I will run mine Epiks into the ground and then chalk it up to a learning experience. One I learned from Outlaw Audio..
