Just looked at your HT setup (nice btw). Side may not be an option for you.

Thanks but ya thats a good idea but on the side wouldn't work for me . It would have to be straight up by the tv were my old sub was or behind the couch . I just hope my couch doesn't start levitating although that might be a neat special effect

Ok, you're being called out. No more waffling, you must go through with this order. Backing out again will revoke your man card .

I'm sure you will be very impressed with the difference between the Hsu and Epik.

No Ron, I have nothing to lose except a bit of my time. Like I said, I am hanging on to the 3.3 until I put the Phoenix in its place to evaulate. If it does not work out, I package the Phoenix up and drive 5 minutes to return it.
That said, I don't expect I will be giving the Phoenix up

I don't know if this was discussed before, but is there an audible difference between a ported sub enclosure built with the ports plugged and a true sealed sub enclosure assuming of course that the AMP, Driver, and enclosure size are exactly the same?
I tend to believe they would sound the same.

Where in SoFla are you again? Pembroke Pines? Which sub do you have?

I'm in Davie. I've got a PB13, a pair of SB12 Plus's, and a ported DIY with twin 10" TC-1000's.

Very nice. Would you mind if I dropped by some time and heard the SVS goodness? I've yet to find anyone/anywhere around here that has them.
No problem. Just drop me a PM and we can work it out.

My duel Dragons are "On FedEx vehicle for delivery". I'll get some pictures of the new packaging etc... I have nothing to compare it to besides my 2 Conquest crates.

I'll compare them to the duel Velodyne DD-18's that are currently setup in my system.

So far so good. I was and up and running in a few minutes. Very BIG sub, but easily manageable as it doesn't weigh a ton. Actually pretty light given its size. Running a 2 meter Audioquest Sub-3 from my Onkyo 906 to the Dynasty with no hum or noise issues. No turn on pops, thumps, or clicks. No circuit breakers tripping etc.

Did a quick level calibration, running a few dB hot. Started with Black Hawk Down Blu-ray uncompressed PCM via HDMI from my Pioneer Elite BDP-09.

So far very impressed. The sub is not even working hard at all and pressurizing my 2900 cubic foot room with no problem. "Irene" scene was pretty mind blowing. No localization of the sub at all and the bass has good impact and articulation and digs down DEEP with no effort at all. No port noise so far.

Previous subs included Velodyne DD-18, two Vandersteen 2WQs, and VMPS Larger. I don't think Chad was exaggerating when he said the Dynasty has the output of four DD-18s. It sure feels like it. Also had Vandersteen 5As and Evolution Acoustics MM3s in my room which both have built-in subwoofers.

Initial impressions are very positive so far. The sub did suffer some minor shipping damage which Chad is taking care of.

These are very early impressions.................

Tried to attach a few pictures and I'm having problems Will try again in a bit.

Thanks for the pics, Gladiator. Man...that driver makes my Castle's driver look small. Hope it's not time for an upgrade already.....

Hey, that looks like an MFW-18 !

Heh....nice pics. That Dynasty looks awfully lonely sitting by itself.

Regards,
