Just built new system_POST ok I think

Just put my new system together today and powered up. At POST I get an Intel UCode CPU error, but when I go into the BIOS all seems correct.

I will update the BIOS tomorrow, some online info says that is the problem, but others say that did not work for them.

Any other ideas greatly appreciated

MOBO Asus P5K Deluxe
Intel Dual Core 6850
2 gig Ram
EVGA 8800 gtx

So your system isn't booting past the BIOS screen?

No, It is booting fine. I just had an error message that it could not identify the CPU. A BIOS update fixed that. Now I am just waiting for the Dell Monitor. They have pushed me back twice, from ships in 1 to 2 days, to ship on 8/5 and now ship on 8/10

I'm surprised... Dell usually overestimates the wait time. I'm guessing the $100 price drop on that monitor has them overloaded.

If the CPU is newer and not contained in the bios, you can get this issue. I had it with an Asus board that was actually sold in a bundle with a CPU it couldn't identify and flagged it ever time (you could still get it to book and alter some settings though but the bios update containing more recent CPUs fixed it completely).

I think Dell is just messing with my mind. The recorded phone call that I got yesterday said the monitor was backorderd and would ship on 8/10

I checked my order on the web today and it says it shipped yesterday
