Already have this one on DVD unfortunately. It's not good enough of a movie to warrant buying IMO.

Excellent PQ, too bad the storyline wasn't that great...

This flick is visually and audiowise one of the best it seems, I don't give a dmn about the story for this one, just give me beautiful pictures with a good punch!

I liked the movie. Thanks for the link, I'll be picking this one up now.

Good review. I'm waiting to buy this and a bunch of other movies in one big purchase down the line.

Awesome. Cannot WAIT for Advent Children.
I'd really suggest that people steer clear of this flick. The movie was truely awful.

I came here thinking it was talk of Fantastic Four - you *may* want to edit your title to be less vague.

Uhh, yeah. I'm going to have to disagree with you on that one. Fantastic Four hasn't even been out for two months and High Def Digest has a track record of reviewing within days of the street date. On top of that, I don't even think the street date has been announced yet. I'm glad you are excited about Blu-Ray releases, but you *may* want to exercise some common sense and try not to come off as an a-hole.

I agree (thought I don't think you're being an a-hole. Just worded your post poorly). Anyone who considers themselves a gamer knows FF = Final Fantasy. As for the film crowd (as this is a Blu-Ray forum) it may not be as obvious, but I'd still expect people to equate the FF acronym with Final Fantasy.

At least I should hope people wouldn't confuse an epic game series with the craptacular Fantastic Four...

I'm a "content is king" kind of guy, but this does provide some truely incredible eye-candy! It makes for better demo material than movie-watching.
i disagree with the review, i thought the movie had a great story line. it was as complex as there games, which is probably why a lot of moviegoers did not like it. i will be picking this up.
I liked the movie, prob wont buy it on BD unless I have an empty week down the road.
I have tons of demo material so I'll pass.
Can you really ever have to much demo material ? Definate buy for me on this one.

Now bring on A C !

I still don't understand what this movie has to do with "Final Fantasy." I admitt, I haven't played all the games but, this movie didn't resemble any of the Final Fantasy games I did play. Were they just trying to cash in on the name?

I agree with you on that one. None the less I though it was an entertaining movie with nice visuals. I'll be picking up the BD tomorrow.

Wow, why are people so quick to jump all over each other? I too thought it was fantastic four. Anyways I liked this movie I remember seeing it in the theaters and there were some scenes that looked so real. Can't wait for this.

The movie was done in the same vain as all of the games in that each story is unrelated to the next...and has a character somewhere in it named "Syd/Cid/Sid".

I get that but, still all the games have a similar art direction that is no where in sight in this movie. Also, at least the 2 FF games I played, the action or fighting used swords and magical spells not full armored men with big guns ala GOW. While the games have all had unrelated stories there have been similar themes throughout that is missing from this movie IMO.

Wow... was I the only one who thought the PQ on this disc was awful? Every problematic scene from the SD was still here. Terrible banding problems in just about every-other scene, the image often looked 2-dimensional, colors were bland and the image looked like it was brightened up. In fact, I've never seen a worse-looking hi-def disc on either format, to be honest with you. Glad this was only a rental...

Here are some pretty good screen shots:

Those are some nice shots. Are they any more films in development like final fantasy (action/drama oriented animation)?

Speaking for myself, I consider it really excellent, one of the most imaginative and intelligent animation films I've run across. (Probably true relative to live action films as well !)
