Will an 8800GTX fit in my old Lascala LC10m?

I am wondering if the Asus Extreme EN8800GTX card will fit in my Silverstone Lascala LC-10M? I will be getting the Asus P5N32-E SLI motherboard with hopes of getting another ASUS 8800GTX card later in the year. I am giving my wife my old motherboard and video card which is an ASUS A8N and the video card is a Asus 850XT. I am wondering if the hard drive cage would get in the way.

Thanks

Anyone have any thoughts on this? Or anyone had any problems with larger video cards in the Silverstone cases? Has anyone used a CPU cooler in their HTPC case. I was thinking of useing the Thermalright ULTRA-120 with the Q6600. I am wondering if it will hit the top of my case.

Thanks.

Seeing a few inside pics of your case. It appears that a 8800GTX would hit the HDD cage. I know with the LC20-m you had to cut away some of the HDD cage to make it fit. Also the Ultra120 will not fit. The LC10 is 163mm high and the ultra120 is 160.5mm high, add the height of the motherboard stand offs and cpu socket and you'll be over the 163mm of the LC20.

Thank you for replying. So you are saying that I would have to cut the HDD cage? I was wondering if my Hard Drive would hit it or would I have to put the Hard Drive in another position?

Ok, I guess the Ultra is too big. What would you recommend for a CPU cooler that would fit?

Thanks for replying.

Depends on the CPU you are running. Right now I'm running a e4300 at 2.4GHz with a SI-120 and a CoolerMaster 120mm Limited Edition Aluminum. For this set up it keeps it nice and cool. Also how many HDDs do you plan on running.

I plan on using two HDDs, a Raptor for the OS and games. A baracuda for the music, movies, TV shows and pictures. The CPU that I plan to use would be the Q6600 because of the price drop. I am hoping this will all fit in my case with a little modification. Wicked, can I place the HDDs in another spot so that it does not come in contact with the Video Card? I plan to buy tomorrow from Canadacomputers.

Thanks for replying.

You can call or email SilverStone's tech support, they can probably answer your question. With that being said, you should be able to grab a tape measure and check the distance between the tip of the video card and any obstacles, then go to ASUS' website and get the length spec.

hehe, you are right B. I should just get off my ass and open my case to physically measure the distance.

Thanks

Looks like it will fit. The last connecter is used for the motherboard's soundcard. The next slot is where the Video card will go and it will just miss the HDD cage. I might just have to grind off just a little bit of the edge of the cage but it looks like it will work. Now I need to get a CPU cooler. Would you guys recommend the Zalman CNPS8700 because of the low profile?

Thanks

Or would the Thermaltake CL-P0369 be better.

Thanks
