Does the 120hz motion flow help with the FPS on the PS3 or X360? Just curious...

I've got a silly question insly, what are the dimensions of the box that the TV came in? I'm trying to determine if it will fit in my SUV or if I will need to get it delivered.

Most RPTV's have 3-5% overscan. There is a V center and H center adjustment on the TV. Unfortunately it does not do 1:1 pixel mapping, however, at least in my case, i can make it perfect by using the ATI control center. Although "native" mode would have been nice i see no problem getting a pixel by pixel screen.

Would it fit if you folded the rear seats and made it "sleep" on the floor (i.e., not keep the TV upright). Could there be any problems transporting the TV in a non-upright manner?

We both did each other a favor and didn't realize it! When I read, yesterday, of Insly's bagging of this new Sony SXRD far before any of us thought it was going to be available, I was all gunho to go out and get it today (well, yesterday, just now) against all my better judgment. I live a stone's throw from the Flowermound (Dallas) BB warehouse and the temptation was almost too much to resist. However, I'm already committed to go on a Mexico trip with my son this next week (he wants to bus our way through the interior, but I'm too old for this kind of fly-by-the-seat-of-your-pants adventure and broke down and rented a car ) . . . Anywho's, the family truck is in the shop, I won't be here to receive a delivery, and this was way sooner than I thought I would get my hands on this bad boy, anyway, so I just stayed inside all day and read this thread. Now that I've read you got the last one, the temptation's no longer there!

I'll just have to wait for the next Sony shipment to BB and in the meantime vicariously enjoy the new set through your reports! Congrats !!!

PS. Everyone's always saying that if you wait for the perfect set or the "next best thing" you'll never get anything. I'll have to disagree, at least this one time. I've waited a good while for a set like this to materialize; had my eye on Samsung's for a long time, although they've had their act together for HTPCs, I think the newest ones missed my boat (at least) with their "flimsiness" and their half-way implementation of 1080p24. Not my first 1080p, but I think it will be my best and should last for a good while! Although there will always be newer and more advanced components coming down the line, it seems that right at the present a lot of things have come together to make this a perfect time to upgrade with the newest gear. My new stuff (hopefully) will include:

Sony 60" Bravia A3000 SXRD HDTV; this will be my fourth HDTV, and I believe, by far, the best
Onkyo TX-NR 905 AVR Receiver
DefTech Mythos ST fronts and the new Mythos Ten center (when it becomes available) - to go w/ already present Mythos One sides & Mythos Four backs
SVS PB Ultra13 sub

I think this is just a great time for us AV hobbiests. Hopefully, I will be able to soon post how all these guys intermesh and add something worthwhile. And, Insly, thanks very much for all your valuable posts !!!

da Choge, just because he said it was the last one doesn't mean that they didn't have any left. They might have a few held back for some reason. Many of them might already be out for delivery, but since insly reported on his yesterday, I doubt that any of them have made it out for delivery(weekend). If all goes well, by chance, mine will possibly be here Tuesday. The problem is that I don't really have the room for it yet, nor a stand. It will have to go on the ground next to my entertainment center. If no one has posted pics by the time mine comes in, I will be glad to post some from all angles and test about anything people want me to test. Insly is doing us all a great service by spending his time here trying to answer all the questions. I would be glad to give him a short break I do not own an XBOX 360 or a PS3 (don't shoot me all), so the only source I will be able to hook up to it is HD cable coming through my freshly built HTPC. A big use of the TV will be for internet surfing and watching DVD's through my computer. That should give me a 1080P source, though.

No no you miss understood me, you have the LAST delivery date available for your area for tuesday. there are over 200 in the warehouse.

And the dvd through the computer will be a scaled 1080 picture from a 480 source

Download the bioshock demo from xbox live and post pictures of it insly... I want to know if this will be the right tv for my gaming habits. That would be much appreciated.

Thanks, a lot, Drewbert! I thought I was off the hook for a least a week and a half! Now, "I'm am compelled by the power of Alan Gouger" to go order one. (And try to get a pickup date for 10 days from now or a delivery date for 2 weeks out)!!! Just kidding !!! Thanks for the absolutely great info; BB here I come.

Now, 'bout that 12% coupon? I thought I could find it on my own, alas. . Actually, BB has always honored the 12% for my major purchases regardless if I had the coupon or not, but, just in case . . . . . . any suggestions?

If anyone gets a 60" A3000, I would really appreciate it if you could post the Box dimensions (for transportation purposes).

Based on some posts from people in various threads, I'd also be interested to know if the 60" has any brightness issues. What I mean is the 120W bulb good enough for adequate coverage on a 60" screen?

You don't even know what waiting is. Fourth HDTV? I've yet to take the HD plunge. I've been wanting to do it for 3 years, but one thing or another wasn't right (provider, TV, timing, etc.). I will definitely have HD by Christmas. My only decision now is whether to get the 60" 3000 or wait on the 70" XRB5 (wife wants the 70").

The way-ay-ting, is the hardest part.

I think I finally have decided on the TV to get thank you for answering the good, bad and sometimes crazy questions about your new baby..... I have to try and decide if I can make a 60" fit in my TV center, and if thats too big as well, depnding obn where the screen sits ( not the front of the stand) I sit currently 8 feet from my 55" KDF-55WF655, but I know the newer units are much slimmer both depth and width wise.

Wondering if the 60" unit or the 55" is the way to go.... bigger isn't always better, but this will be the last Display purchase I will be making (read:allowed to make) for a long time.

Wow da Choge....I think we are on the same wavelength, somewhat. Except I may settle on the Pioneer 94 Elite for my receiver, Mythos One's for mains and for my surrounds go Speakercraft Aim 7's as I HAVE to have in-ceiling surrounds. But I'm with you on the Sub, SVS Ultra-13 and of course the TV. Should make for a great set up. Still unsure on my center as I was thinking of the Mythos Three

Sadly looks like the physical space limitaions of my entertainment center preclude me from getting the 60" -

According to Sony the 60" measures
Depth - 16 3/4" (I have 20" available)
Height - 38 7/8" (Sadly I have 36.5" available)
Width - 54" (I have 60" available)

Sigh... and I won't even bother asking if I could "modify" her brand new 6K entertainement unit.... if only I could jack up the hutch by 3 inches....

I have this TV on order (from Sony), as well as a Xbox 360 HDMI version. But my receiver is older with no HDMI. Does anyone know if the a3000 will take 5.1 from the 360 via HDMI and re-output it to the optical output to the receiver? I've heard the 5.1 input sound on HDMI only goes out of the TV as stereo. I hope that is not true.

Doesn't the 360 have a digital out as well?

Insly. What is the height of that stand that your tv is sitting on? Do you feel that it is the correct height? I am getting the 50" and I need to get a stand and I am trying to determine the correct height of the stand should be. I guess this all boils down to how are the vertical viewing angles on these sets.
