is this a theater or just a room with an insane amount of bass? Its gotta be awesome in movies. Do you just have them all running low to even out response? Seems ilke way overkill but theres some jealousy in my voice lol

lol closet.

They are all set to 20hz (incluing the Pluses) and the ASEQ1 along with individual spl meter readings evens out the response.

lol you know what I mean hopefully you took no offense. Its not a closet for you the listener, its a closet for those 4 (6) subs! Its like they are trapped but Im sure they are fully capable of breaking out! RIP walls...

No offense taken. It is cozy, but I'd have it no other way.

I noticed the SVS website, since its redesign, no longer has an image of the Ultra 13 driver. Good thing I saved a few on my PC.

Just looked at the site. No more gloss black Utras, only that black ash?

I wonder if the new ultra cone material (Rohacell) is stronger/better than the previous (Polymethacrylimide) cone.

The following is from Post 251 in this very same thread. It should answer your question.

It was originally developed for the aerospace industry. Specifically for aircraft wings. Since it's inception into the consumer market (maybe 6 years ago?) the speaker industry has embraced the material for it's ultimate rigidity when reinforced with laminated layers of fiberglass, kevlar, carbon fiber, etc etc. Not to mention it's extremely light. Very high stiffness:weight ratio. Which is all ideal for speaker/subwoofer diaphragms...."

Finally have my PB13 ultra set up right. At first, i was completely disappointed, I did not feel bass anywhere in my small living room. I felt deeper bass from a $400 Samsung HTIB Sub. Could not believe the hype it gets, Just a horrible experience overall, i almost gave up on my entire System and was ready to sell everything and forget about HT systems forever.

Well, that was until i moved it to a new location, then I was Blown away! i could not believe subs can be that much sensitive to locations, i mean it was as if I added 10 more subs in my room, just a complete day and night difference. Now i could not be happier with my Pb13

So my advice is, if you aren't satisfy with the bass you're getting with your PB13 MOVE IT MOVE IT MOVE IT till you find that sweet spot, It really can make an enormous difference.

first object to fell victim to the PB13's wrath

On another Note, My sub is spitting out Pink insulation lol. have you had this happen before or should i be worried?
Yes. My PC-12 did this. The side insulation came loose and got chewed a bit by the speaker. Used spray adhesive (per SVS) to reattach it.
Ok, thanks i sent SVS an email so lets see if they advise likewise.

Is there way to eliminate some of the shacking in the house? At first it was kinda of cool, but now it has begun to annoy me.... any help appreciate it.

How did you go about setting it's gain level?

Sounds like it might be set too hot.

What type of foundation is your house built on? Concrete, raised wooden, etc.

I think mine arrived at -6, turn it up to -12 or something and have you run the room correction software? I find it really dials down the bass. My biggest concen with my bass it having the sound travel through the walls. When they Denon 4313 arrives it looks like it will have a new feature called Audyssey LFC.

Do you have all these issues on your PB13?

Did you get a B-stock sub? I would NOT unscrew the woofer to re-adjust. It weighs about 60lbs (more than many complete subwoofers), and if it fell out would damage the woofer/box. I read that special tools are needed to remove the woofer. THe driver is a real best.

I agree with Croseiv...additionally, if you were able to "turn" the driver so the logo is straight, the mounting screws probably wouldn't be aligned with the threaded inserts in the cabinet. Just curious, how crooked is the logo? I understand you though, crooked stuff drives me nuts.

They are threaded inserts? Not just screwed into the wood? Yes these are all the things I found on my new non b stop pb13 ultra

I remember a few posts regarding rotated logos on the driver. You might lose some extension or accuracy due to this.

I do think it is a reasonable expectation, when making a purchase such as this, that it arrive with good craftsmanship and be blemish-free.

My impression is that SVS has a very good reputation and it would be worthwhile discussing any concerns you might have with them.

Well, I did but I relocated the sub and havent had the chance to re run audyssey. I did change the distance manually.

I think they are all crooked, the SVS logo itself not the "woofer" post some pictures.

Was told by svs that my svs pb13 ultra is ready to rock and roll out of the box (plug and play) being that I am using a Denon 4311ci and that I can run audyessy without tweaking any settings. Your thoughts? Also, whats most common as far as using port plugs? I see many using only one, what do you guys think? Should I plug one port before running audyessy? Any other suggestions as far as settings go before running audyessy?
