How to read forum?

I receive daily email notification on subscribed threads, but it's not a very satisfactory way to keep up. Need to open each email link in the browser, then find that I've already read some of the posts (any posts that were made between the time I received yesterday's link and the time I actually opened it).

How do others keep track of subscribed threads? Is there a better/easier way?

Thanks!

Since i don't have access to my email from the office (where i do most of my AVS reading and posting ), i bookmarked the link to my Subscribed Threads.

Go to your User CP, go over to the left of the screen and look for Subscribed Threads, click the pulldown arrow and select Subscriptions, then when the page loads bookmark it. If i want to check only the threads i'm actually subscribed to, i just click that bookmark and it takes me to my list.

Thanks Randy. But then how do you navigate to the first unread post in each subscribed thread?

I don't think there's a way to do that. Is it really that hard to page back from the last page in the thread to where you last stopped reading?

When I click on the links in my Emails, it takes me right to the first post I haven't read.

Of course, I never surf AVS until the evening, and only access the site during the day via those links.

For me whenever I got to the end of a thread, I would click on the number of the last post and it would open another window which I would then bookmark. Then when I opened that bookmark later it would go directly to that post in the thread. But that was before today (before they changed it). Now if I click on the post number it opens in another window with just that post and nothing else

Yep, it is, actually. Unless you write down the message number each day. You end up at the top of the previous page, and might have to go thru dozens of messages to get to the first new one.

Sure wish these forums were on Usenet, would be sooo much easier. Sigh...

Only if you access the link immediately upon receipt. Otherwise, you're likely to have already read several of the "new" messages when you accessed the link yesterday.
