Hey all,
I have a question about which HTIB setups are good for music listening. I need to pick up a new system that will be used for both home theater duties and music listening. As for surround options 7.1 isn't terribly important to me, 5.1 is fine. It seems that a lot of the HTIB systems out there are tailored to movie listening, but don't seem to be well suited to music listening. I'm hoping to find something in my price range ($500 or less) that works well enough for both.
I've been evaluating a few main choices:
Yamaha YHT-380
Yamaha YHT-580
Onkyo HT-S790 (refurb)
I listen to a lot of music, and I listen to a lot of internet radio, and the Yamahas have a built in DSP setting that restores lost frequency content from compressed audio sources like MP3. So based on that feature, I am close to choosing one of the yamahas, but I wanted to know if the Onkyo I've listed or any others that any of you own or have experienced have also doubled as good systems to listen to music on.
I'd like to keep the cost at or below $500 if possible and I'm trying to pick the setup within that price range that is the most versatile as far as music and home theater.
