I know it's online 4 sure. I chose store pick-up. There are a few more cheap like that too.

BHD is $13.99 in-store as well. All BB's have it that way.

Bingo!!! I was in BB and I broke down and bought "Kung Fu Hustle" LOL..... Not sure how good of a movie this is but I did see some one said it was funny to watch. There was also a boat load of BDP-S300 walking out the door when I was there...

Just an FYI. The saying is "nip it in the bud"

If you nip something in the bud, you deal with a problem when it is small, before it can grow into something serious.

It is referring to plants.

Hello, I am Dean and i am a Blu Ray addict
post #72 of 73
Same here.
I swore i would save $$$ and not get to deep with Blu ray.
Only my favorite movies that warrant repeat viewings.

Then after I compared A/B streaming vs blu ray- Blu ray compression one hands down.
So I started buying new releases - that I sell back on Amazon- (unless I really dig the film)
Lately I've been buying TV sets- again- I've compared the quality to even over the air HD and Blu ray wins again (check out Mad men season 2- gorgeous!)

I tried watching the latest season of Mad Men over the air and I did not enjoy the show as much as the seasons I watched on Blu Ray.

I now honestly believe viewing a higher quality presentation speaks plenty to the over all enjoyment and experience.

I'm hooked.

Like I said- most titles I buy and then sell back.
It usually ends up costing me between $6-$12 per purchase.

And now I hear 4K is on the way.....ugh.

Wow,

Old thread, but I should have signed in. I was wondering if, with all the options for viewing movies these days, whether there were still many of us Blu-Ray addicts left.

I'm a Blu-Ray addict for sure. I love movies and want the best presentation possible. I'm scooping up Blu-Rays also because I have some fear that, with streaming looking more like
the future, I can't be guaranteed the movies will be available in this quality later on. (Who knows if 4K will actually take off). I'm not worried about some better format replacing Blu-Ray in the future.
This is now and I want to watch movies in the best presentation I can NOW.

I just came home with the Bond Blu-Ray collection. Tomorrow it's the Universal Monster's Collection. Admittedly at some point it just becomes plain difficult to actually watch everything one owns, so I guess that's where the addiction
part comes in. smile.gif
