Motorola HD-DVR box to Hp w19b monitor?

I'm looking for a little help here. I'm very new to this and looking for guidance on hooking up my Verizon FIOS system to my computer monitor. Using Verizon's HD-DVR box with a HDMI to DVI cable. From what I've read that should work for the video...need to run audio cables for the sound.

I've tried hooking up the video as above and get a picture for about 10 seconds then the monitor goes blank. Changing the channel does nothing. The only way I get a picture is if I turn the box off, then back on, I get video for 10 secs or so.

Does anyone have any suggestions? What am I doing wrong?

OK. Again, I am rather new to this, so dou you have any suggestions as to where I can get a monitor that supports HDCP? Or would it make more sense to just buy an HDTV?

Any other ideas?

I guess I should have been more specific with my installation.

Verizon FiOS Triple Play. ie. Internet, Phone, & TV

TV #1 = SD stb to SD digital TV (Works Fine)
TV #2 = SD stb to SD digital TV (Works Fine)
TV #3 = SD stb to SD digital TV (Works Fine)
TV #4 = HD-DVR stb to HD digital TV (Works Fine)
Tv #5 = HD stb to HP w19b LCD computer monitor via HDMI to DVI cable(HP w19b is also connected to my desktop pc)

Question: is there something that I can do, some setting or otherwise, that will allow the monitor to display the signal from the stb? Do I need to buy something? Or will it simply not work meaning I must get an HDTV to use #5?

Again, I am very new to this stuff so I'd really appreciate some guidance here! TIA....
