I saw the RH515 on a Chinese selling site. Too bad I don't know Chinese. I'll try asking a colleague to see if I can buy it from there

anyone need the remote (Dell WJ151) that works great. i would happily sell it to you. let me know how much you will pay for it. they are on ebay for ~$30 and ~$40. those are the prices with shipping that i found on ebay. the actually ebay auction from which i purchased it was number 350066551256. i paid $20.33. ill sell it to you for that plus shipping, or if you are aggressive and convincing maybe ill sell it a bit cheaper...

also, i have another one working, so i can tell you how ive gotten it to work on an hp... its really cool actually. gyration, meta tag music lcd screen, learning remote, etc... all work. message me or reply in this thread if you want it.

So you are selling the remote only or it includes the wireless usb board RH515 too?

it was just the remote, but i just sold it yesterday. thanks for any interest.

Anyone selling an wireless usb board RH515? I don't seem to find it anywhere!
PS: The Taiwanese site goods.ruten doesn't ship to US.

not to imply that it will work because i think it might have been an accident, but i got mine from dell, asking for part number RH515 and they sent me a remote, a dongle (not the board, but the usb dongle works for me), an ir receiver, and an ir blaster. maybe give it a short... just tell them that you are replacing a lost/broken part of yours... good luck.

Wait a second! A dongle!? I called Dell twice and asked for the board and they said it's not on stock each time.
I also ordered it twice from softarcade.com and they canceled each time the order, last time saying "Item discontinued"!
So maybe I should ask Dell for a dongle instead of a board!?

Does anyone know if the remote is compatible with the standard USB-IF? In that case it should work with any dongle which is USB-IF certified, right. One such device is the Belkin 4-port wireless usb hub: http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/p...27063#Overview

cliric, not sure about the usb-if. i dont think its standard wireless usb (as discussed earlier in this forum), but i would give dell a call and see what they can do.

a new piece of info for ya'll, on my packign slip it says that i ordered:

maybe see if you can order CX071 and/or RMT5. if it costs something like 11.99, then that is probably it. good luck again.

I put two of these with the Rh515 board up for sale on ebay.

One is new with a new board, one is used with a used board and a partially modified cable for creating a USB connecter.

@coruscate: Man, you just "stall" from me a remote with usb dongle on ebay ( (250261390643). Now that you have a dongle, I'm waiting for you to sell a receiving board or at least let us know what is the part number of the dongle!

So has anyone had any luck with getting a RH515 recently?

I'm looking for a RH515 for about a month and no luck!
- softarcade canceled my order twice
- I called Dell and they said out of stock twice
- Dell parts online returns:
- Refurbished: Kit,Remote Control,RMT5,Dell Americas Organization,Dimension - $154.99 or
- Refurbished: Remote Control Kit, part RY496 - $58 (if I knew this include the remote AND a dongle I would buy it; does anybody knows?)
- on ebay I lost an auction for a remote PLUS receiving DONGLE; now I hope coruscate, how won the auction, will give us more details (and some photo) about the dongle when he will receive the product

So good luck in finding it and if you find a new source to buy it, please let me know too!

I have been calling Dell to see if they have any, but they say there is no stock, but I was told it may return to inventory in the future. Hopefully, these will become available again for all.

is it wrong of me to suddenly want to put my remote and receiver up on ebay? I suddenly feel so dirty lol but I could use the money and dont use the remote as much as I thought I would....

I have so many other things I could sell off first including a d5 HTPC case that has been sitting under my bed forever lol

But man the ability to use the remote like a mouse while laying in bed is nice....

Yes, I Got a RH515 and No I am Not selling it so don't ask.
Yes I looked into cloning it but the cost of Parts alone makes It cheaper to buy a gyration unit.

Now for the good news I hope.
I think I have found a replacement. I have order it and it should show up in a week. It's Uses the same odd Cypress wireless USB standard.
Best case It just works.
Next case It Needs to be reprogrammed.
Next case To mod it so it acts Like a RH515.

Will keep you posted.

@Alpha-tron: where did you get the rh515 from? what replacement do you have in mind?

@all: Since the cypress wireless USB chip is in so many other units, did anybody have the chance to try a different USB dongle with the Dell remote? I'm thinking of:
1. Logitech 2.4G wireless presenter
2. 73P4067 Lenovo wireless keyboard
3. USB 2.4G Wireless PC Developoment Board nRF2401
4. Unigen or Wisair dongle
5. BELKIN F5U302 Wireless USB 4PORT Hub W/ADAPTER USB

I'm pretty sure the Belkin hub should work with the remote since it is also offered by Dell as version F5U303 (meaning without the USB dongle).

@coruscate: Did you receive your dongle that you bought from ebay? Please let us know what kind of dongle is that, maybe we can find some sources to buy it instead of RH515 board. Thanks.

not sure yet, going through this weekend and trying to see what I might sell off, I have too much crap I keep hanging on to saying oh I might use that one day...well it's been over 2 years and I havent used a bit of it lmao.

I got the RH515 from ebay and no the guy doesn't have anymore.

As for the experimental replacement. It's been ship fedex and I am just waiting for it to show up. If it works it will be a great 20 dollar fix.

As for what replacement I have in mind? I am not posting it until I know one way or another. The 20 dollar fix has only a limited supply and I rather not say. If it works expect a PM on where you can get this fix. I want to reward those who contributed to this thread first.

If anyone's looking to get rid of their RH515 please let me know
