What gaming headphones to buy? - Page 76

cool, wheres "home" for you? i'm originally from lamar.
"home" is Southern Illinois, 1 hour away from St. Louis. Moved to Denver in 2000.

Lamar? Wow, I've been there on business at the hospital. Interesting little town.

After doing some more research on the A40, questions. I sit approximately 10 feet away from my TV and receiver....I'm assuming the cords will be long enough?

Also on a review, it stated the additional ports are on the bottom of the mixamp, does that mean my buddies could come over with their headsets and plug them into the ports to get the same sound quality (well, depending on the headsets??).

What I realized is that I should be able to use my old AV cables from my previous 360 so I can use the current Optical link for sound. I would also use HDMI from 360 to my receiver ,right? So maybe I won't need to split open the AV cable.....

I think you need to split open the cable in order for both the HDMI and AV cable to fit into the 360.

I found an easier way to attach the Astro mic to other headphones. I discovered that the mic piece at the end of the boom actually swivels around so you can attach it without having to bend the mic awkwardly.

Check out the Astro A40 headphones. Would be my personal pick.

IMO you should get a good stereo headphone & get the JVC 5.1 adaptor so you get the best of both worlds.

So the Pioneer wireless headphones are the best?

Well I hope so too. I'm just a tad nervous on when they'll arrive. I typically NEVER upgrade the shipping but since I'm leaving next Sunday I want to try them out before I leave. So I opted for the 3 day shipping.

have you ever had the odds stacked up so high
You need a strength most don't possess
Or has it ever come down to do or die
You've got to rise above the rest
I've never had to knock on wood
But I know someone who has
Which makes me wonder if I could
It makes me wonder if
I've never had to knock on wood
And I'm glad I haven't yet
Because I'm sure it isn't good
that's the impression that I get

Would it be worth the upgrade to the Audio Technica ATH-AD700 Open-air Dynamic Headphones from the seinnhieser 555's? They are on sale for $115.

from what i've seen/read, the ad700's compare more closely to the 595's, but i'm not sure if its worth the upgrade to go from the 555s to the 595s.

that being said, a friend of mine has the 555's, and i didnt like them as much as my ad700's.

I've pretty much narrowed my decision down to either the Tritton AX360 or AXPro..

I can get the 360 right here in NYC for $99.. the AXpro is $170 online including shipping.

Which ones should I go for??

I have the tritton ax-360 the sound is OK I guess but the thing I find annoying is the muffled feeling when trying to talk with them on

Plus they use the main game sound channel for in game chat so that leads to issues hearing your teammates at times..

One good thing I can say about tritton is the customer service.. they are great.. I called them 5 months after I bought mne and told them I BROKE the pins off the connector being a dumb ass and they sent me a new headset..

that is pretty cool..

If your main concern is AQ I'd look else where.. Their directional audio is ok, but can be bettered with quality headphones & DH processing.
