I just got an offer from another great headfier to have a NuForce HDP shipped to me for demo and feedback so I will be seeing how it stacks up to the Solo SRG II. If anyone here is interested I'd be happy to connect it to my optical out of my AVR from my 360 and let you know how it sounds for gaming.

That looks cool... where did you get it? It would look intense with the SWZ RCA Patch Cable!

Couldn't find... but on a side note... Who told Amazon NOT to accept PayPal... that's soooo silly! That's how I accept payment transactions... easier for me to turn that over to buy other stuff in Amazon if they'd just accept PayPal.. those JERKS!

Well, since they have their own payment service, it really wouldn't make business sense to accept payments from a competitor. That's my guess anyway.

Probably not... but they should make it easier for the consumer! I wanted to go ahead and order my Grado SR80i and then my Denon AH-D2000 this weekend. I'll wait a little bit on the AKG K70x. Since I've been asked to build up other AD700s... I need to focus on that.

Just for HaHas... I plugged in the MixAmp into the PC via USB Only... and you can DEFINITELY tell the difference between the Realtek HD Audio and the MixAmp. The soundstage easily triples and the music notes separate themselves nicely so you can actually hear the instruments and such. It's actually not bad at all. It's a nice jump up from on-board audio. The 1 thing I did notice though, is the bass doesn't hit as hard... but it's more detailed. Kinda weird, almost like if the on-board audio has a built in bass boost.

Ok, I put the uDac back on... and it's does sound better than the MixAmp. The notes are nicely spaced as well, but the soundstage seems normal again. I think there is processing going on in the MixAmp with the Dolby Headphone on or off, it's still there (or something at least)... I believe earlier on in this thread it was mentioned. The bass though, it's back... and hits just as hard as the on-board... but it sounds tighter and less bloat. Ok, enough testing for me... uDac wins!

Oh yeah, I totally agree. I was just offering an explanation of why PayPal may not be available.

Anyone have any Spare or lightly used AD700s they're willing to part with for a decent price? Please PM me so we can talk.

Does anyone know where I can find a 2.5 to 3.5 mm cable that's longer than 3 feet? RadioShack doesn't have them, at least not here, and I can't find them at Monoprice either. I can get a 3.5->2.5 adapter for a 3.5/3.5 cable that I've got, but I'd rather get a 3.5/2.5 cable if I can find one somewhere.

Build it... then you can have whatever your heart desires (to an extent).

I've ordered directly from this site (a 75ft subwoofer cable) before. It arrived very quickly. Later I ordered an ethernet cable from them...only I ordered it from them through amazon because it was cheaper...go figure.

I've dealt with them before too, but those are all 3.5 to 3.5.

Don't know if you want male-male, male-female, female-male, or female-female?

Either way, a google search of "2.5mm to 3.5mm cable" brought up a lot of hits of places to get every combination in lots of length options.

This one has a couple 6 foot options.

If I was you, I would go to www.kvconnection.com and put in a request on their custom cable form for the exact cable you want, the exact length and what types of connectors (3.5mm, 2.5mm, male, female, etc). They get back to you quick and the prices are about the same as you see on the website for similar cables. You can request the exact length, right angle or straight, brands of connectors or cable even if you want. Very smooth and easy to deal with and they build it fast (built the cable I requested within a day). They basically email you a webpage with the new custom part on it that is valid for some time period, and you can add it to your cart just like any other item they sell. Their shipping costs are also very reasonable which is important to me when you're talking about a really small cable.

Another option if you want to buy local or maybe even use stuff you already have, is to just buy a 3.5mm version and use an adapter on one end to get the 2.5mm.

Yeah, I should have been more specific. I'm looking for male to male. I did that search and couldn't find what I wanted!

I wound up buying one of those bravo amps too 'nerd. Just curious and it seems like a fun little amp. I'm actually thinking of using it a preamp for the voice channel going into the mixamp mp3 input. Or possibly to amp the mixamp output if it works good for that. I like that it has a tube I already have a few of, no opamps, and supposedly has killer power to the point that it's not good for low impedance phones without an impedance adapter. Reasonably priced and should be fun to play with anyway.

Follow up- I looked at those sites and in the Google search and couldn't find a 4 or 6 foot male to male 3.5mm to 2.5mm cable. Why would this be so hard to find?!

@SWZ: I'm clueless as to how to go about building a cable and really have no desire to. That's what we have you for! Wanna build me a cable?

Did you go to kvconnection and request the custom cable? There's no obligation, just request exactly what you want and see what it costs. Probably $12.99 or something plus $3 shipping.

Honestly, I was typing while I was doing something else so I typed BEFORE I read, which is against my own signature. Do as I say and all that.

Grats on the MS-1s, let me know how they sound. They're supposed to be a laid back version of the SR80i... where the SR80i is more forward (not sure what that all means), but the MS1 is a better all around headphone (with most types of music)... and the SR80i is more a Hard Rock, Rock, Metal headphone (guess what I was pretty much looking for.. but we'll see).

Found this, and now I'm a little curious...

yea, i was researching that, it looks like the AUNE is a better option, and though the maverick has a tube, the tube output is only for the speaker pre-outs, not the headphone out.

For Realz? Ok... I'll stop looking. I have a Little Dot on the way, and I shouldn't really be looking anymore unless I'm going for a huge upgrade, as I've heard really good thinks of the uDac and Little Dot I+ working together. I just read a nice article on 6moons about Balanced headphones... got me curious though. What would be the harm, in say... building up a K701 with balanced, single entry cable that terminates in a 4 pole 3.5mm adapter. Then using a female 4pole, I could build adapters to terminate in any way I want (since I'd have to make an adapter to use it with my "SE" amps anyway. Then.... I need not upgrade if/when I decide to go 'balanced'... just a thought anyway.

Just an FYI for those who are interested the the HPA2 there back in stock at Amzn for a more reasonable price than it has been for the past few weeks.

SWZ, are you still contemplating buying a sub or will you be building one? Just curious if this might be of interest to you. Today only, but almost always goes on sale for this price. May also be useful to anyone who would like to use with the mixamp
