Connection Advice

Members,
I'm setting up an HD70 in my basement and have around a 20 foot cable run. I will be connecting an HD OTA tuner and DVD player to the projector. Should I go component or HDMI? Note that cost is an issue but not if it sacrifices a lot of quality. I'm kind of confused how to send multiple sources to the projector with 1 cable.

Thanks

Go HDMI. No question.

If both sources support HDMI, I would go with that by using a switcher that allows you to send multiple sources over a single cable. Not only is HDMI less suceptible to RF interference, but it is a smaller cable and looks neater. It will also transfer 1080p if you upgrade components,

I just found out my Reciever has component switching after some research. I think I might start out this way and then switch to HDMI when I have some extra money.

Thanks for the input!

Does anyone know of a good low cost OTR HD tuner that I can use with the HD70?

Thanks!

Oh, I just got my FocuPix (HTdepot) HDvio screen and it looks great!

Remember a CL2 25' HDMI cable cost about $30.00. The componet cable (RG6) is going to be about the same price. Cost is not in this equation.

NEVER BUY MONSTER CABLE CABLES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If I had to buy a switching box it would increase the cost correct?

Yes.

If you have a receiver then check it for video out. If your receiver is old and needing to be replaced, then look for a replacement before buying a switch.

I got my receiver for about $300 bucks with HDMI switching and DTS.
