What's the best way to check for Burn-In ?

I bought a display model of a Plasma TV.

What is the best way to check it and make sure it has not suffered any sort of screen burn-in ?

I know they run these TV's 8-10 hours per day and probably don't follow any sort of break-in either as is recommended.

So my biggest concern is burn-in. I do know that this particular TV has only been on display for a month to a month and one half.

Thanks, Tim

I usually wait till dark, then turn off all the lights in the room and switch to a blank input. You should be able to see any Burn-in or IR there.

Try to watch a white screen when checking for burn-in, or an image which is uniformly one color. The minor burn-in I caused to my plasma early on only became obvious to me when I was watching a scene with white or very light colors.

Where did you buy it from? Our TV's at Best Buy, get pretty well broken in. All settings at standard(At least at my store), no static images, and little to no black bars.

I purchased it at Costco. It's been on display about a mont and one half or so.

Under two G's for a TH-58PX60U with two year warranty.

I checked at Best Buy web site and they did not show any.

I thought it was a good deal. Just want to be sure it has not suffered any sort of damage while being lit up on display.
