No carpet yet, they are coming on May 5th to measure, so hopefully by next weekend, then I can get my couch in there instead of my old office chair. Good memories of that office chair, I did a lot of sitting and dreaming/visualizing in that chair. I put a few of my speakers in temporarily to give them a listening too. The Yamaha 663 is awesome! Right now I just have my PS3 hooked up, but the Yahaha puts out some great sound. I will be hooking my Xbox 360 up after the carpet is in and see how it handles component to HDMI conversion. On with the pics...
Here is the projector, perfect fit in front of that beam. You can see my right surround speaker mounted on the wall. The rear surrounds for the back wall aren't up yet, but will be the same speakers.
On the back wall I wanted some storage, so I started with building a base out of MDF and 2x2's.
Then I mounted some 12" deep kitchen wall cabinets above the base, the base will be covered in carpet, same as floor. The top will be a granite counter top, no overhang due to space limitations. It will make for a nice shelf for knick-knacks and such. I'm going to a place tomorrow to see if they have any remnants that I could get a good deal on.
Here is my equipment rack, nothing pretty, but it has great ventilation and is easy to customize. I won't be adding doors or anything fancy, not in the near future anyways.
I tried getting some good shots in the dark, but I think I need to get a tripod or something to keep the camera steady. The shots keep going blurry. The picture is fan-freaking-tastic!!!
The baseboards are not yet painted, I'm actually considering painting them white. I like the contrast and being able to see them while the projector is running doesn't bother me much at all. Any thoughts?
