Should I bi-wire my speakers??

I have a lot of 12 gauge speaker wires left over and I was wondering if I should bi-wire my speakers. What is the advantage of bi-wiring? Would it put extra strain on my receiver (Yamaha HTR-5960)? Would the soundstage be affected since my center is not bi-wireable, only the L&R are bi-wireable. Thanks!

Short answer.....no. I bi-wired mine with some nice cables....looks cool, but really no difference ( IMHO ) . I tried to talk myself into better more spacious sound, not. Won't hurt the speakers or degrade SQ.... go ahead and give it a shot. Now if you were bi-amping perhaps... that's a different story. No additional strain on your receiver.
OK, let the onslought begin.....big can O worms here ya know.

No.

Just kidding with the short response. There are at least two very long threads out there in that you can look through. I think you will find the short answer to be that it doesn't make any diff when you ony have one amp.
