I'm not fast enough to have HD Netflix, but my VUDU quality is excellent, not sure how much better it could be as it looks really good right now.
What do you have up your subwoofer sleeve I wonder?
The player is a Panny BDT220.
So far it looks like a great budget performer. My Vudu account & player are "synced up" and waiting. Hope to test the streaming this weekend by attempting the HDX version of Prometheus.
My internet (and VOIP) phones were via CLEAR wireless. Even though their tower was only 1/2 mile from my home I seldom got above 3.5Mb down and .8Mb up speeds.
Their marketing was just that "marketing". I was skeptical when they claimed I would have 10mB down, and I questioned it. The salesman assured me that 10mB was the minimum
with higher-speed bursts being likely.
Even with the bandwidth "FIB" their price was hard to beat $52.00 month. However; out of principle; I vowed that whenever I got an alternative that was affordable, I would switch. Side-note; seems I am now part of a class action settlement brought upon CLEAR for their "marketing" and "throttling" practices
Was recently doing some outside work when the friendly neighborhood Comcast rep approached me. In the past both Comcast and ATT were expensive unless you would buy their "triple-play" packages.
So I challenged the guy to give me his best price on an internet and phone ONLY package
. He came back with 59/month + 7.00 Eq. rental, actually $39.00 (for the 1st 6mo teaser rate). I believe they called this their "Double-Play Blast" package, or something similar, translation >20Mb down and a minimum of 1Mb up. So far I am consistently measuring 22~23 Mb down and 3~4 Mb up, and once the teaser period is over >> this will be costing me about $13/mo more than the Clear arrangement.
As for my sub-woofer sleeve:
Still in top-secret design phase. All I can say is; modifications are involved and I need a proper name for this fraken-sub?
For now >> I call it the new & improved "CuznEddy, 500+watt, Uber-Puber, Cocktail Table, Auto-shaker for Two"
