Best Buy offering $200 gift card with purchase of LG's dual-format player

Just saw today's Best Buy Sunday ad.

The LG dropped in price to $999, and in addition Best Buy is giving away a $200 gift card on top of that.

Not really a great deal, but it's nice to see some showcasing of combo units.

So the best way to do it is to buy the unit and get the 200 gift card. Then go back in and buy another one using the 200 dollar gift card making the price 799. Then return the original one you purchased for 999. Does that make sense?

This unit is a piece of junk with no PCM on HDMI...I wouldn't buy it if it was 500.00...

Buying an HD-A2 for $199 mixed with the $499 Ps3 would be a better "dual format" option. Plus you get 10 free movies..

The better deal is at CC. The price starts at 899 and then you get the 200 dollar gift card.

No PCM over HDMI sucks... Nice try LG...

If you returned the player you would have to return the gift card.

Right. No one would allow the return without GC in tow. Unless of course you don't mind taking a $200 restocking fee.

Don't forget that at CC if you belong to AAA, you get 10% off ANYTHING in the store..even sale prices.

Yeah, I ended up joining AA instead of AAA. When my car breaks down, I just call my sponsor and he picks me up. Don't even have to pay an annual fee.

Maybe you should just go back to drinking and join AAA??

Serious? I never knew that, sure wouldn't mind snagging 10% off the laptop I wanted.

My AAA Circuit City benefit excludes LG, plus a lot of other top brands, so you better check the fine print.

The one at LBJ and MacArthur in Irving. The tag was there but I didnt see any players, but that store has a pathetic selection of either HD format players.
