I would like to replace my 9" CRT 12VDC portable TV with an new version. Here is what I'm looking for but will consider anything that meets most of what is listed:
12 VDC powered for cigarette lighter operation
Low power (lower than CRT)
Sunlight readable (better than CRT)
ATSC tuner (NTSC would be nice but not absolutely required)
16:9 format
Screen size around 14" give or take a few inches
Portable - this will not be permanently installed in the vehicle
I'm having a heck of a time finding anything. At this point I am considering just using my 17" widescreen PC with my OnAir HDTV-GT USB tuner. But I don't really want to tote my PC around and would need to find a 12 volt adapter that is efficient enough to not drain my car battery. (Most I've seen that convert 12 VDC to 115 VAC consume a lot of power to do so.)
