Looks like the Grex

I have transfered three vhs tapes to dvds so far so good. Just using rca connections and normal settings on the DP 5000. The quality on the dvds seems to be as good or maybe a little better than the vhs. I will start trying the enhancement settings soon.

But, my biggest question is, can I make anamorphic copies of anamorphic DVDs? I will be using the S-Vid out from one DVD player, to the enhancer, then to my DVDR. I have never tried to get a squished video signal from my Toshiba DVD player, which is the one directly connected to the DVDR. Is it usually possible, with most DVD players? (I also have a Sony and a Philips) I would assume that the enhancer will pass an anamorphic signal, if it receives one...

Thanks to whoever will answer.

As far as widescreen, at least with the ATX500, it's the same as if you didn't have the filter in the mix. It doesn't/you can't alter it one way or the other. Whatever your player/recorders and media will allow you to do.

Don't know about the DP5000 or any others, though.

Excellent! Will definitely be investing in the DP-5000. I was unable to find it or the ATX 500 on the Firebird Systems site, maybe I did something wrong. Regardless I'll get one soon.

For all of you who have tried these units, which ones work the best?
I am finding more and more info on this forum regarding these products but am having trouble figuring out which one may work better. I already tried the DP-5000 but it did not remove any "flags/guards" as promised. I had the Sony DVD recorderRDR GX 330 that did not work with the DP-5000 to remove anything so I purchased a new DVD recorder by Panasonic (EZ 27) It didn't do the job either when combined with the DP-5000.

So, I have DirecTv R-15 receiver and now 2 DVD recorders (for now).

Who has tried these units with Directv/R-15

1.) DP-5000....experience?
2.) Grex.....experience?
3.) ATX-500.experience?
4.) DP-6000.experience?

I need help with this issue before I end up with thousands of wasted dollars on all these units! Plus, I have added about 100 grey hairs trying to figure this out!

Thanks for your help.
