In looking through my distributor catalogs, Most of the larger manufactures claim their HDMI cables will only support 1080p for up to 10 meters. Though they sell cables of longer lengths, they will only support 1080i / 720p without some kind of repeater.
A few others such as Phoenix Gold states their Platenum Level HDMI cable will support 1080p up to 15 meters in length with it's 24 awg conductors.
If it is only your PS3 that will be utilizing that HDMI cable, then I would not be concerned at all if it is just for gaming. It is if you wish to play Blue Ray discs that getting it's full 1080p image will be an issue, and your TV is full 1080p compatible.
