Where to buy GOM?

Where is everyone buying this GOM (Guilford of Maine) fabric? Is it something typically found at a local fabric store, or online only?

Thanks!

The two places I know of are fabricmate.com which you have to call to place an order or a respected AVS member BPape's website: sensiblesoundsolutions.com

I used Fabricmate. Decent prices an good service.

BPape (sensiblesoundsolutions) is slightly more expensive, but 1) he usually can get your fabric to you sooner than fabricmate (FM either has it in stock or they don't, while I believe BPape's orders ship direct from the factory), and 2) BPape spends a ton of time on these forums giving out free acoustic and other advice. I got my fabric from him, as I figured it's nice to support forum members who support the forum, if you know what I mean.

Got mine from Bpape for the same reasons.

Thanks for the sources. I actually found fabricmate right after I posted this. I would love to support BPape (sensiblesoundsolutions) with a purchase. Unfortunately my theater is small, and therefore so are my needs. I only require about 1....maybe 2 yards of GOM. Bpape's minimum order is 5 yards, whereas Fabricmate has no minimum order.

Thanks again.

In defense of Fabricmate. They are in the business of providing wall covering supplies to companies that put up 100's+ yards of fabric a year. The fact that they have gone out of their way to support the DIYer is admirable.

I ordered twice, the orders came within 5 business days, they shipped directly from Interface Fabrics (GOM).

Bpape, does a great service to this forum and he will get some of my business in the years to come as well.

BigMouth - That's a good point, I agree 100% re fabricmate -- I got a quote from them and had nothing but a great experience. On one of the fabrics that they didn't have in stock, it was a few weeks lead time as I recall, but they were up front about it and the customer service there was stellar. Plus, as I noted, they're a little less expensive even though, as you noted, they're willing to sell in low quantities to us DIY'ers. It wasn't my intent to be negative about fabricmate at all -- while you might not have interpreted that way, others might, so just want to note for the record that my original post wasn't meant as a shot at fabricmate at all.

Fabricmate.com Jim will take care of you...

I'm lucky GOM has a head office 45 minutes from here... That's where they ship from, few stock the GOM.

i am working with Bpape on my room (he is great to work with) and while I havent to talked to him about GOM, I did call Fabricmate.com and there stuff is also shipped from the factory

To be honest, the only reason I called Fabricate is because they are semi local to me but they told me that if I order it will be shipped and there is a four day turn around

As you may know Bryan works with me over at GIK also and has been pushing me to offer our stuff in GOM. Well the boys wish is coming true, it is not up on the website as of yet, but it looks like we may be offing it as a option also. Thanks to Bryan (BPAPE) that is
