Makes sense; but if someone could post pictures of both sets using the same type camera and settings we could get a feel for it.

Even with HD movies (DVD) my eyes see little different with 120Hz(beween the 734 and 833) like i said i had them side-by-side for 5 days,and tried different material, HD, SD, DVD's, HD DVD's, GAMES, but for gaming, i saw very little different,both have amazing PQ, famiy and friends also see very little different, but for gaming, (this is where everyone seems to see the differents) this to me is a good thing, tells me the 734 has very good PQ also, even without 120Hz.

I just hooked up my 65833 on saturday. No humming sound!!!! I did notice when watching the Cowboys/Giants on HD a "blurringness" during some motion scenes. Picture was perfect when the image stayed the same. Any ideas what I can do to adjust? I tried changing the 120 hrz refresh but did not notice any difference.

It wasn't your TV creating the problems with the Giants Cowboys game that was the source widely reported on the HDTV programming threads and in our region it was the worst HD I've seen in two years - compressed and blockiness that is never there otherwise.

NBC SNF or else Comcast compresses the signal to a state that's unacceptable whereas all my other HD Channels are crystal clear. Watch ESPN HD MNF tonight and you'll see a world of difference or you should anyways.

Picked up my 73833 yesterday and just did some basic hook ups (PS3) to get things started.

I had to turn contrast down to improve picture.. but other than that.. it looked great.

No fan noise to be concerned with.

Will be playing with other user settings over the next few days.

Thats interesting. I have a different cable provider and I would say my picture was flawless.

Well I could resist myself when I saw this at Fry's and here is what it came up with on my 73833.

Brightness - 23 (Already I have moved this back to 31, none of the bars showed up on DVE. This is still close to the same level as 23 per the graph it makes for you)
Contrast - 59 (This is high but I figured I will give it a shot for a day or two)
Color - 47 (This seems high as well)
Tint - 31
Picture Mode (Color Temp) - Natural (Everything else tested way blue), Low (didn't get a chance to test this since I only got 1 pre-set but started and ended with Low)

Don't know how valid these are but figured I would share in case people are still playing with their settings. Perfect Color/Tint are at factory defaults.

EDIT: Already dropped Contrast down to 47. Way too bright.

Hooked up an antenna for some heroes OTA at bb. Vegas scenes look great and the darker scenes were just as good. Had to tune it a bit for mohinder's apartment with the green and blue setting.

On my 73833 I have noticed a few times where it appears to display trailing lines (ghosting). For instance, yesterday when golf was on in high-def, I could make out a faint white blur behind the ball as it was rolling on the green. My eyes have also seen this with faces moving quickly across screen.

I'm using HDMI with a Onkyo 805. Rather then get deep into my current video settings (haven't changed much yet....it's brand new) I was curious if anyone else has noticed this lag effect.

I saw the same lag effect from the golf on a new Samsung HL-T6756W that I am evaluating.

Just recieved my 73833 and have it on EspnHD Sports center and it looks Awesome!!!! I haven't had a chance to change any of the settings such 120HZ BECAUSE THE DAM REMOTE WILL NOT WORK!!!!!!!!!!!!! Changed batteries, reversed them, pressed ever button to see if some where stuck, switch the device selector and NOTHING!!!!

Now I have to go to the store where I purchased it and hope they have an extra.

I will report back later when I have more time. But again the picture looks great so far!

Hi just got my 65833 delivered and the picture quality is out of this world. I am lucky as I dont hear any fan noise whats so ever. Can any one please tell me how to change from default to 120hz. I am having a custom built unit for the TV but this is how it looks right now.

Getting close to pulling the trigger on the 65833.

I did have a question: Is it better to run the HDMI from my components into my Onkyo TX-SR703 (HDMI 1.1), and then into the TV, or HDMI into the 65833, and run the digital coax into the receiver?

Do these televisions have an optical out or do they only have a coaxial out, like it states on the BB features page? I have an older receiver with no hdmi connections. So, I would like to hook up the digital audio of the television via optical cable.

Looking at the manual and it only has digital audio output no optical output

I've had my 62725 since 2004 (basically the same TV as you had) and the 73833 is starting to give me the buying itch!

How is the brightness compared to LCDs and plasmas out there?

What about viewing angles? Right now that is a big complaint of mine on my DLP and is what is steering me toward an LCD or plasma. Have they come a long way with DLPs in this regard?

Did you ever replace your bulb on your 62525? I am currently on my original bulb (with a spare ready in the closet).

go into global menu settings to enable smooth120. My 73833 should be arriving tomorrow. Keeping fingers crossed. Im ready for it. My cables from monoprice should be coming shortly there after. I have a 32" vizio sitting on the stand now haha. Its quite a sight in the entertainment wall.

It works fine both ways, so whatever works best for you!

The brightness is very good,the viewing angles have improved much!

only have coaxial out, Why does it have to be optical cable, when both are digital?

How many hours average did you watch teh old tv a day? How old is the TV. Just trying to get an idea how long the bulb will last. Do you clean teh filter or any other extra maintenance on it regurally?

Does 1.3 hdmi cable (deep color) make a difference?.. I read through the manual and its considered a Catergory 2 cable. I connected my ps3 with just a phillips hdmi cable i picked up at walmart and was wondering if it would make a difference before i start playin/calibrating. BTW this tV is amazing! Much better then my Sony 60"Xbr950. Just playing with the settings though I found the 60hz setting was sharper image over the 120hz.

cables for 734 and Catergory 2 (HDMI 1.3) cables for 833,tried it the other way around and saw no differents on either set with ps3, cable or dvd

I have a question and it might seem a dumb question. Will the 73833 go 1080p from blueray to 1080p on the Mitsu via hdmi, without out any down conversion to upconversion. The only reason I ask this is I read somewhere and I am getting ready to get this Tv this weekend.
