Would you pay 20% more for an anti burn-in warranty?

I know anti-IR technology has come a long way, but I'm curious to know what you guys think?
Basically it would be something like:

$600 for a $3000 TV
$1000 for a $5000 TV
$1500 for a $7500 TV.

Fat chance of it happening, though.

I could imagine that if they offered something like that people would burn their tvs on purpose to get a free new one. I choose maybe, since it would really depend on my mood at the time of purchase, lol.

3-5 years ago maybe needed although 20% of those prices would be alot.

with current and future models, No!

I think that it's simply not necessary. If you properly burn in your plasma in the first 100 hrs, properly calibrate it after that, and then don't abuse it, burn in simply will not happen.

Manufacturers consider burn-in as customer abuse so why would they warrant it? It would just encourage more abuse.

If laptops manufacturers can offer warranties that are unconditional (i had
one from Acer) that handles spillage and other abuse, I'm sure it's possible to
offer a premium for these expensive TV's. Also, someone would have to be
completely crazy IMHO to intentionally burn-in a set. They just spent a bundle
on a heavy TV that's hard to set up, why break it on purpose?

getting ir on a plasma is just negligence on the owners part. It's like leaving your dog in the car with the windows rolled up on a hot day.
